Ello Cole Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle with Slider Lid, 16 oz, Grey

This cup is my all-time favorite; it fits well in my hand, cleans well in the dishwasher, and never leaks. I can close the lid and turn it completely upside down and shake it and it does not leak at all. Some say the lid is hard to clean, but I don't leave the lid long enough to get fuzzy mold growing in the lid. This is only for liquids, not for chicken noodle soup or anything with chunks in it (except ice.) If you ware worried about the lid, put the lid in a bowl with a little bit of bleach and let it set for 10 minutes. I put the whole thing in the dishwasher every day and the vacuum seal hasn't broken yet. I bought my first one (like this exact one) at a store and after 6 months it's still not leaking and keeps my coffee really hot for hours. There is an area where the slider mechanism resides, inside the mug that could get nasty if you don't wash your mugs and let stuff grow in the lid part. Hasn't happened to me but if it can tell by looking at it that I would just need to a toothbrush to clean it and then bleach it. It does not fit perfectly in my car's cup holder, but and even though the bottom is too fat to nestle down in the cup holder, it stays in the top inch of the cup holder because the coaster bottom is grippy. I can flip the slider closed easily and not worry even if it totally falls over. I can set it it on the passenger seat and even if it falls on it's side it does not leak a drop because of the design. It just does not collect dribbles in the drinking part like other travel mugs. Hard to explain until you use it. Sometimes I just use it at home without the lid and it's good at keeping coffee hot for much longer. I like the feel of it in my hand; it's not heavy or clunky. Nice design.

I got my first Ello bottle in 2017. I’ve use it daily since then and it has held up really well. Since I do use it every day I had wash it mostly, but It does go in the dishwasher wherever I do a normal load and has not had any problem. I just took the attached photos Dec 4, 2022. As you can see it is still in good condition. After 5 years there are some stains on the plastic part that seals the lid and the gasket has a small tear. I use a straw cleaner to get underneath if cleaning after drinking anything other than water. So over the years that gasket has gotten a little rough treatment. The interior is not stained at all. If you clean this bottle daily you will not have any problems. Just understand that the surface is painted and paint can scratch. (My Contego bottle was a complete mess after a only a few months!) This bottle does a pretty good job of keeping beverages hot and does a very good job of keeping them cold, especially if you use ice. It has a excellent seal when closed, even after 5 years. I like the cork-like bottom (it is fake cork) as it is easy on whatever surface you place it on and does not slide. The weight and width of the bottom also make it less easy to tip over that the typically shaped bottle. For use in my car the cup holder insert has to be removed. This might be an issue for some cars. This bottle is so attractive and a pleasure to use, that I’m here for another one! The black looks cool and elegant, so I’m choosing it this time. While I’m here I’m just writing this review to let others know my experience with the bottle long term.

The ello tumbler has performed as advertised — kept my coffee hot and not leaked. I like the lid sealing design which appears to use the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid contents to help seal, but it also allows a steady flow of liquid when open. Very easy and fast open/close. The lid outer fit and seal seem precise as well. The ‘cork’ bottom is not true cork but rather a wood/saw dust filled composite plastic (see the picture). I was a little disappointed in this at first as it was a primary reason I chose this mug, but this design is good enough aesthetically and will probably hold up better in the long. By the way, the picture is taken with the cup full of fresh hot coffee — no drips no runs no errors! I also like the enamel finish with slight texture. It’s a solid feel with nice clean design about it that doesn’t grab or get hung up in my car’s drink holders.

I’ve been using Contigo insulated coffee mugs for a the past 5 years or so. Two main reasons, the spill-proof feature and the insulated factor to keep coffee piping hot. Lost my other Contigo while moving this last weekend, so ordered this Ello. Having tried it now, I can say this would have to beat out Contigo in both of these requirements. Spill-Proof: it is indeed spill proof. It has a mechanism under the cap that seals the opening when in the locked position, similar to how Contigo does, so it’s not just simply covering the opening. This is true spill proof. However, the Ello has the advantage of the high wall mouth area, so you can open it and tilt it to see the coffee a bit before you drink it, thus preventing the surprise temperature hitting (and burning) your tongue like with the Contigo. Insulated: same type of insulation as Contigo, no real difference there. But, the game changer for Ello, is the rubbery cork-texture bottom. With my Contigo, the cup would feel cold just sitting on my desk at work, from contact with the desk (work around computers, so ambient temp is usually 68° to 70°). While this may not affect the inside holding the coffee (since it’s insulated), I’d still feel like my coffee was affected by it. With the Ello’s bottom, it acts as additional insulation to prevent the temp of the desk’s surface from affecting the temp of the mug, even if only the outside shell. Overall, I’d have to say the Ello does beat out the Contigo in function and reassurance. Additionally, I feel the Ello is superior in its design, and is far more eye-catching than the Contigo, not that I really care what others think, just that it’s appealing to me personally, especially the cork-texture rubbery bottom (full disclosure, I love cork, so I may be a bit over zealous about that part).

This is (almost) the PERFECT travel mug and the best one I've found so far. It is the perfect size - fits in cup holders, enough coffee for me but not too much. It truly keeps coffee warm all day. The cork bottom is a nice detail and the white/color lid looks modern and low key but not boring. The lid is pretty much spill-proof. I'm not sure I would recommend throwing it in a purse or backpack and not expecting anything to leak... but if it were to get knocked over, you'd be fine. Because of the leak-proof nature, it is a bit loud to open (open it before that meeting/presentation starts!) and because the lid doesn't come apart in any way, it is difficult/impossible to truly clean. I try my best to rinse it as soon as possible, but often a qtip/pipecleaner situation is necessary to get the inside somewhat cleaned out. Would recommend/will probably get another when I inevitably lose this one.

I LOVE this specific coffee mug SO much! This is my 3rd and I hear my 4th is on the way. I use this coffee mug every single day. I'm not one to drink my coffee all at once, more of a sipper throughout the day. It keeps my coffee hot for hours and the lid is proven to be spill-proof or leak-proof. The built-in cork bottom is amazing and the mug has easily fit in every car holder I've tried. It is recommended to hand wash the tumbler portion but I have been putting it in the dishwasher after every use. It has held up well for years (3+) but recently the white paint coating on the mug is coming off. Again, completely my fault as I use and abuse this mug daily. Because of this, I now have one metal/silver colored mug, one partially white, and this new all-white one. The lids are different colors and are interchangeable on the mug itself. Santa informed me I also have a 4th mug on the way! I'm so excited. I highly recommend this mug to anyone who needs or uses time to enjoy their coffee. I've even brought it full of hot coffee several times in my hiking backpack (no leaks) and enjoyed hot coffee on the mountains in the middle of winter with snow all around. Now that I have a few, I don't have to worry about running the dishwasher every night. Perfect!

This cup is awesome! I have used it everyday since I got it. I searched for quite awhile before I settled on this cup. I love it for many reasons. 1. It keeps my drink hot for hours! I like to sip my drink throughout the morning and this cup keeps in hot like I just made it! And the outside of the cup stays cool so you never burn your hand. 2. It is stainless steel on the inside. I cannot stand cups that are plastic on the inside because I think it makes the drink taste different. 3. It doesn't leak! I let the cup roll around on my seat and in my bag and It hasn't leaked a drop! 4. It fits a lot! 18oz is huge! last me all morning! Gives you room for creamer! (I tend to use a lot) 5. The built in coaster is great because it doesn't leave a ring on the table! 6. The lid! I wanted a cup that had the sliding lid. In my opinion its the best type of lid to have! 7. It is so cute! such a sleek design! Love it!

I love this cup for my iced coffee. I drink iced coffee in my home office all day and this thing keeps the ice fresh and the coffee cold. I love the cork bottle because it doesn't clank down on top of my wood desk when I set it down so I don't have to be super mindful of it. Also zero condensation even when it's 80F + in my house and the cup is cold. Also the lid is the easiest lid to clean ever. No gaskets to remove and clean just to get frustrated trying to put them back in place properly. Instead it uses a tapered threading that is leak proof. I have knocked it over, dropped the cup and accidentally even smacked it with it rolling across my desk and unless the mouth piece is slid open I have never had so much as a drop come out of it. I love it. I'll probably buy another one as a backup.

I purchased this pale blue Ello Cole 16oz Vacuum Insulated Travel Coffee Mug for my clumsy spouse who often spills her coffee. Upon receiving it, we were immediately impressed by the product's quality, and the color looks stunning.
