A transition Bible - Just purchased this (for my 5 and 8 y/o) and I couldn't be more pleased-and excited!!! (I am not affiliated, nor was I given a copy to review- this is just me) My slow to read 8 y/o wanted a bible he could read on his own (which he immediately did). But I couldn't find a translation that he could read without distorting the message. I also wanted him to be able to use his Bible for memory verses. When i stumbled across this on desertcart, I thought how cool that he can color it too. I wasn't quite convinced what the quality of the book or pages would be, but I figured since I've spent more on board books, this wouldn't go to waist....boy, was I surprised! First, DO NOT be confused, this is a storybook Bible.... but it looks and feels like a real standard sized Bible. The covers are tough paper, it reminds me of the old Bibles my grand parents used. The pages are thick, almost like card stock ( I'm not sure I'd use regular markers without testing it first on the test-page, but pencil and pens won't be a problem even for the heavy handed child). The fact that this is so customizable with all its pictures to color throughout (the front and back covers, the spine, page edges, and all theoughout) that I bought one for my 5 y/o too. The art work is just the right amount of kid friendliness without distorting or over simplifying the content. I should say that my 11 y/o thought it was too childish for him. And yes, there are stories left out, but I can easily fill in any gaps as I feel appropriate. Overall, it is exactly what I was looking for, maybe better. A transition from the simple rhyming picture type Bibles into a true translated Bible. The stories are are written in a way that sounds as if I were explaining them to my kids in my own words (but better). Every story states the address, under the title, that it is pulled from in the Bible and usually will have a literal verse highlighted in italics on the page. For example, Gen. 1:1-2 is 'story' told, but at the end, Gen 1:1 is highlighted and could easily be used as a memory verse. As far as mistakes, I haven't found any yet and can't say whether there are any. But again, this is not a literal translation and just like any book or curriculum, I am ok with giving some grace to the editor if needed ;) and correcting it with the correct information. You have absolutely nothing to loose with this purchase! It's beautiful to see my kids so excited about this Bible. Review: Your child will LOVE this!! - I got this Bible after seeing it recommended by a mom & my boys have been so engaged and wanting to learn about the pages that they’re coloring. We use it for our daily devos & they remember the stories from the pages they’ve colored. The images really bring the stories to life for them. I appreciate how this Bible has many stories from the Old & New Testament. I teach Sunday school so I have seen a couple different children’s bibles and most of them don’t have enough of the stories we teach in them for the children to follow along. I also really like that Carolyn (the author) thought to add extra coloring pages in the back of the Bible like The Books of the Bible..the Armor of God, Fruits of the Spirit, 10 Commandments, My Prayer/Praise to God and My Favorite Scriptures. I have already gifted this Bible to some of the children in my Sunday school class and plan on continuing to gift it to other children and recommend it to all parents of children. 💛 My class is 4-7 & that is the perfect age for this Bible. I would say anyone that enjoys coloring would benefit from it.

Great idea, love the outcome!
Great Bible for little kids. Bible stories take up part of a page and there’s plenty to color. The pictures are fairly detailed so it’s probably geared toward older kids (6ish) who might enjoy coloring details, but obviously younger ones will enjoy it too. Happy with the purchase and will buy again to gift it.

Don't miss the chance to buy this, for any age.
I just ordered 14 more, for my grandchildren ages 8 to 27 and 4 great grandchildren. I ordered the 1st one so I could review it to make sure it followed the Word of God, it does, so I ordered the rest. Did I really order it for my 27 year old granddaughter? Yes. I read my Bible searching for wisdom, knowledge, epiphanies and WOW moments. Spiritual ways to help others find our Lord Jesus. Sometimes, I just want to read it and not look for Devine wisdom, not look for the moments when I jump for joy out of something I've just discovered. This "My Own Keepsake Bible" is that. This Bible, and it is the Bible, will teach the young to always seek God, and the older minds how easy it is to have faith and follow God. Honestly, if I could afford it, I would buy one for everyone I know, like or love. I'm also buying colored pencils to go with it, because the coloring pages are fabulous for coloring. Do I reccomend this? With all of my heart. This is for anyone; new believers, old believers (like me) and especially for those who say "I just don't understand the Bible." P.S. consider buying 1 for yourself, and don't forget the colored pencils. God Bless, and a very merry Christmas. 2019

Great "Bible" for family devotionals
We have a 4 and a 2-yr old and have been on a quest of figuring out how to do devotionals together as a family. We've tried reading the Bible at dinner, bedtime, in the morning at breakfast, etc. Nothing sticks for more than a couple weeks. Then, a friend told us about this "Bible." (It's more of a story-book Bible, meaning the Bible stories are told in language kids can understand.) It's GREAT. The kids LOVE it, and look forward to our Bible reading at bedtime. 4-yr old loves coloring the pages, and they really engage with the stories. Plus, the price is so affordable that if the kids tear it up, we can buy a new one and not think twice about it.

Love it!
I bought three of these; two for my grandchildren (6 & 8) and one for myself to read along with them over video chat. I decided to color the cover page for them so they would have a little "Yiayia art" and I discovered that the cover page paper is textured, but luckily the rest of the pages are more crayon friendly. Sweet!
