Prime-Line U 9869 5/16 In. Diameter, Foot Operated, White, Sliding Patio Door Lock (Single Pack)

I bought this to lock my screen door, keep my 2-year old indoors, and be able to keep the sliding door open to enjoy the spring/summer breeze! It is exactly what I expected, and took only minutes to install. A drill/drill bits are needed, if you do not have these..it will be difficult to secure this lock!

Bought this for our slider screen door so our cat doesn’t push out the screen to escape. Easy to install and keeps the door in place.

I bought this lock as a replacement for an original that broke within 5 months of install. In hind sight I should have seen that this lock is terribly built. All parts, with the exception of the actual bolt and spring, are made of plastic - not the most secure material to ward off intruders with! After receiving the replacement lock and installing it (took seconds to install with just the four screws, included) I tried it out a couple of times. After the second time locking and unlocking it, the thing wouldn't lock any more. Literally would not stay down when I pushed it down. Returned it via Amazon's return procedure, got my replacement in a timely manner, and wouldn't you know this second replacement WOULNDN'T work either! Just as crappy as the original lock, and the first replacement i bought. You get what you pay for I guess. I do NOT recommend this product to anyone who wants a lock that actually works.

I bought 4 of these. Very disappointed. The entire lock is plastic except the locking bolt. I haven’t installed them. Not sure I want to damage the doors since I don’t think these will hold up. Good design, would be great if the housing was metal.

We bought this as added safety for our 4 year old autistic son so it is mounted at the top of the sliding glass door. At the age of 4 it works fine; however, if you wiggle the door enough it will trip the latch. So I would recommend this product only based on the intention of your use, meaning I would not feel comfortable having this as a security feature.

My foot operated slider door lock broke and stopped “locking” just 5 months after my new slider door was installed. This replacement lock is an perfect fit to replace the original and actually works better than the one the installers put in with the new door. Installed it in less than 5 minutes with just a Phillips head screw driver. At the very reasonable Amazon price of under $7, I bought two to have another replacement on hand if need be. We use our door a lot to get out to the patio and I need a lock that will work for years before it poops out. I’m hoping this one will!

Used it for mycsliding patio door.

Within two days, it was already not setting when we pushed down on the plunger. We have to bend down and manually secure it into place to set the lock. Cheap crap.

Works well. Replaced an older device that had stopped working.

I used this type of luck for the pass 12 years easy to use .great lock received well ahead of time had pickup at Canada post box. Thinking it would by delivered by amazon. things happen. thank

The lock fit well but the screws were too long so I reused the screws from my broken lock. I was worried that the bolt wouldn't be long enough from a previous review that stated this but it fit my door perfectly!

Aucune utilité, se déclenche juste en touchant la porte, je ne recommande pas ce produit, censé être une "serrure" c'est complètement inutile, acheté la pièce originale Truth Hardware si vous voulez remplacé la vôtre qui c'est brisé, c'est ce que je ferai, plus cher mais fonctionnera #1 pendant des années.

Had the same lock on my patio doors for about 20 years - finally it would not lock so was replaced with this new one - so far so good - those who had troubles with installation need the locking slots at the bottom for separate mounting - and those who had breakage - they must have had faulty models. If you are replacing a broken lock and have the plate to lock it into this is great.
