I have this on 2 nano tanks and it works perfectly to keep the surface clean! Highly recommend.

I bought this to deal with heavy surface oil on a freshwater tank. It is well made, however it took me a little bit of fiddling with to make it work for me. The adjustment knob piece at the bottom does not fully block the lower intake, I initially could not get enough suction to pull the skimmer head down low enough to skim properly. I used a pipette to remove some of the air from under the skimmer head, this made the head less bouyant and it floated lower in the water. then the skimmer worked great! Removed surface oil in 2 days and has stayed clear since. If you need a short mini intake skimmer this is the only game in town.

I picked this pipe for its size and price. It fits on my 4 gallon tank very nicely and is not super fragile. The only complaint I have is the surface skimmer and the suction cups. The first maybe two weeks it worked nicely, as pictured below in a before and after photo, but now it does not seem to bring water in at all. Not sure if that is the skimmer itself or my to be completely honest. The suction cups are not the best, but it isn’t the end of the world. On the positive side the pipe leaves a nice amount of wiggle room between the glass. I am overall satisfied enough that I did purchase another one. This works nicely enough for nano tanks and those on a budget. If anyone uses UNS tanks it works on the UNS 60S and the 5N, both glass and height wise.

Nice compact size. Shipped quickly, assembles and works well. Only change I'd make is for the teeth of the skimmer to be angled so it spins, but this is a very minor point. Only skimmer of this size on the market - highly recommended for your tanks with limited space!

It appears the bottom adjustment piece that came with it may be too small and the rubber O-ring is definitely too small. Piece will not stay put. Because its loose, too much flow will enter the inflow slots on the bottom and will not create enough suction to pull water from the top portion/surface skimmer rendering the surface skimmer ineffective. I am unable to adjust it to find the sweet spot where there's suction from both the bottom and top simultaneously. Perhaps purchasing an assortment O-ring kit with varying sizes to find a larger, thicker O-ring will solve the issue. (Using with an ADA Super Jet ES-150 filter)

I tried this skimmer thinking it would skim the protein off my tank. But it wasn’t performing as advertised. And sometimes the skimmer would sink down, regardless of how I adjust the water flow. When it did that it sucked up my Amano shrimp without me knowing. I was wondering where all my Amano shrimp went, I only discovered this devastating issue when I decided to clean my filter cartridge. Is when I discovered 10 live shrimp and a couple of dead ones in my filter cartridge.

Excellent skimmer and lily pipe for smaller aquariums. I purchased it for my 45p and fits perfectly. Good price for the quality. Easy to clean however because it's glass always handle with care.
