Rust-Oleum Green Kitchen Cupboard Paint in Matt Finish - Serenity 750ml

Great paint, we chose this based on other reviews and we weren’t disappointed. It goes on really easily and dries quite quickly. We ordered 3 tins and have used 2 so far giving each cupboard 2 coats. I love the colour, we went with serenity and it’s perfect for our cottage kitchen. Would definitely recommend and will definitely buy this brand again

We were going back and forth on this paint because all the review photos we saw looked different. We wanted a nice light green shade. It IS nice and green, but it definitely looks different based on lighting. In smaller kitchen with less natural light the paint will look more blue than green and same with overhead lights on and off. Also if your lightning is cold it'll look more blue. But it is green, and a rather nice shade. Looks amazing with gold detailing like handles and it's very modern looking. --Second: it covered our very dark orange wood cupboards pretty much perfectly - no primer, just a quick wash with a greaser removal (there's a red bottle one from B&Q that's specifically for grease removal on cupboards before painting). Then just paint. No sanding needed, no primer. It needed two coats. Super quick dry time. We did the whole kitchen, front and back of all cupboards, two layers in 6 hrs. Perfect weekend renovation project. We got two cans and ended up using one and a half for all of this. Extremely happy!!

I bought this paint because the kitchen in the house we moved into looked quite outdated, but replacing all the cupboards would have cost far too much. I decided to try painting them instead and I’m honestly so happy with the result. Application was much easier than I expected. I properly cleaned the cupboard doors first, then used a brush for the corners and a small roller for the larger flat areas. I did not need primer or lots of preparation beforehand which saved a lot of time. The consistency of the paint is really nice to work with — thick enough to give excellent coverage but still smooth enough to spread evenly without too much effort. The pigmentation is fantastic as well. Even after the first coat the cupboards already looked dramatically better, but I still added a second coat for a more even finish and extra durability. Considering how much money a full kitchen replacement would cost, I think this paint is excellent value for money. You do not need loads of product because the coverage is so good, and the final result honestly made the kitchen look almost brand new. I’m not a professional decorator at all, so I think this is a really good option for anyone wanting to refresh their kitchen on a budget without replacing everything.

This paint is fab, however, be careful. I got 2 tins and 2nd tin was a slightly different shade but was noticeable. I did get a replacement sent which was OK so was happy in the end

Rust oleum serenity. A beautiful subtle green with a sort of grey hint, the photos don't do it justice. Doing up 30 year old kitchen. Washed with sugar soap and rubbed down with fine sandpaper. Read the instructions, this stuff takes 7 days to cure so don't wash or wipe down too harshly before it's cured. Applied 2 thin coats, 3 for cupboard door under sink. Applied with a paint brush, 4 hours between coats. Extremely easy to apply in thin coats. This stuff goes a long way, done 15 doors/drawers (fronts only!) and still got half a tin left. Brushes wash easily in cold water. Now it's cured it's practically indestructible. Did a test, smeared with olive oil and butter, wiped with warm water and washing up liquid and didn't leave a mark. Thought, what the hell, and wiped down with bleach, it hasn't affected it at all. The before and after, yes they really are the same cupboard doors. I rubbed down the handles and sprayed them with rust oleum general purpose metallic spray paint in oil rubbed bronze. I haven't given a score for durability etc as it hasn't been done very long. Will update in a few months if any issues. Very pleased so far. 15th May 2025 I've ordered some more Rust Olium paint for another project so I thought I'd update my review. It's been 3 years since I painted the kitchen cupboard doors and they still look as good as when I first painted them. There were a couple of chips due to an enthusiastic puppy but I still had the original paint so was able to paint over them. The original kitchen was still solid, only the varnished finish on the doors had perished, this paint saved me having to fork out for a new kitchen. Highly recommended.

This is the best furniture paint I’ve used. Easy to apply with brush or roller, doesn’t ‘drag’ … only two coats needed and this small tin was more than enough for all the cabinets in a small galley kitchen. Good colour too, just what I wanted.

Such an easy paint to use on kitchen cupboards. Make sure you clean the surface you wish to paint with a degreaser and you are good to go. I used a mini roller for the majority of the painting and a small brush for the intricate areas. First coat will be a little patchy with pin holes. The second coat however goes on very easily and produces a fantastic finish. I'm very happy with the result and have had lots of compliments about the colour, which is a lovely shade of green, and the overall finish of the paint. Looks like a brand new kitchen at a fraction of the cost.

Küchenfronten gestrichen, unter anderem Hochglanz, ging perfekt. Haben vorher alles mit Waschbenzin gereinigt. Bin begeistert

Peinture parfaite. Utilisée pour repeindre une cuisine qui à la base est en Formica. J’ai tout de même poncé les meubles pour un meilleur résultat et je ne regrette pas le résultat est parfait. Aucune trace de pinceau / rouleau visible, les meubles semblent avoir toujours été de cette couleur. La qualité est vraiment top et professionnelle. La couleur est fidèle à celle présentée sur la photo. Une deuxième couche n’est pas forcément nécessaire car elle est super couvrante mais pour un résultat sans aucun défaut c’est mieux d’en faire tout de même une. Un seul pot a suffit à repeindre la cuisine entière (15 meubles taille standard)

Cette peinture est vraiment top: de part ses couleurs, mais aussi car elle couvre vraiment bien et pas de traces de pinceau ou de rouleau, j'ai pourtant fait cela à la va vite au dos des portes. J'adore cette peinture, je la recommande sans hésiter. Cest d'ailleurs le 2è pot que je commande, le premier était "olive marinée"(bien moins couvrant, plusieurs couches nécessaires) mais c'était un peu trop "audacieux" pour moi ;)

Absolut empfehlenswert! Hohe Deckkraft, prima zu verarbeiten und stoßfest. Einfacher geht es nicht. Allerdings im Baumarkt 8€ gunstiger. Das macht sich bei mehreren Dosen schon bemerkbar.
