Great Alessi product Very thin material but looks and works great

I long admired this used by the waiters at Eataly in New York City. And I like Alessi products. Yet somehow I couldn’t bring myself to buy one. Lo and behold, it’s my birthday so I caved. This is a beauty and its function is top notch.

Just came home from Florida and saw this grater at a lot of restaurants. It’s so cute and practical too. I will leave it on my counter all the time. I’m sure it will start some conversations! It came in a box with instructions how to use and care for it. Quick delivery too

The product box was totally damaged and it was a great ft so hard for me to present it that way. But product was not damaged.

This is the best cheese grater ever made. Such a grand idea. So simple. Increase grating surface to increase efficiency--by an order of magnitude. I lusted after this kitchen tool for ages but only recently had enough disposable cash to justify spending $100 on a cheese grater. Worth every dollar. And you can use it to pose as a unicorn in between grating sessions. Bravo Richard Sapper once again!

I saw this in a restaurant and knew I wanted one. When it arrived it looked exactly as I’d seen and as pictured. Then I tried to use it. It was completely useless. I could run my knuckles over the grater with no impact. I was so disappointed and returned it, It’s nice art but a crap utensil.

I loved the design of this so much and being Italian, I grate a lot of cheese over a lot of dishes. But I use another grater. This one is just too pretty and too hard to clean and dry every time. I use this mostly for special occasions or to impress company and it does look really amazing tucked away on my counterspace. I do agree that the handle is somewhat flimsy, I thought it would be more sturdy too. I was able to find a replica for like $12 at homegoods but it was soooo much smaller and not as nice as this one. This is definetly a good item to keep on your wish list for holidays so you dont feel guilty for spending $100 on a cheese grater - but if you do, you'll love it.

Its Italian, its got style, presence, quality and is functional, plus the Alessi name. Its primarily to show off to your guests to grate parmesan cheese directly onto your meal like the best restaurants. Because the grater holes are only on one side the cone funnels the grated cheese where its needed on your plate and not all over the table (if you grate gently!). It does the job which normal graters do not. Yes it's expensive but that's what you pay for designer products and exclusiveness to impress your friends. I am an Architect and design freak and definitely like it. It should only get 4 stars because of the high price but this is the 'Porsche' of parmesan graters so 5 stars it is.
