How long will it stay hot?

Depends on your definition of Hot. It is double walled, but not insulated. It will stay reasonably hot for 15-20 minutes or so, then it starts to cool. A French Press is not designed to be a typical coffee pot, the coffee is meant to be consumed right then and there. Therefore, the pots are not designed to keep it hot for long. The advantage of this pot is that it will not break, it looks nice, and it does have some insulating properties.
