One other review said that this product was not for use under the hood, but that was one of the key factors in my choice. I looked quite extensively and I kept finding this product on several different sites. The spec sheet says it will work under the hood, and it's a small repair to the firewall, and it has held up. It covers a small hole caused by rodents. I have another larger hole that I will also post once I get that repaired. Start small...So far so good with this small repair. This product WILL WORK under the hood!!

DON'T BE LIKE ME! I installed this on the floor of my Tahoe and ran 12v turn on wire to my amplifier wire across it. Long story short, the 12v wire got so hot it melted the rubber and started smoking. It almost resulted in a fire. Stick with foil based sound deadening where you run your wires for this reason. This would be good for the rear of the car.

I used it to line cavities behind car speakers to deaden the hollow sound. Worked wonderfully and stuck well (like really well, to fingers and anything it touched lol)

Not very durable. Tears and pulls apart with the slightest smoothing. Bad wrinkling from folding to package for cheaper shipping. Only useful if covered. Replaced it with foam with alum foil on face surface.

Sticks well, easy to manipulate, no real measurements but my ear test says it cuts down on vibration noises in the door. Would definitely use again, price is solid.

I am not satisfied, in fact I hate the product. It rips extremely easy and if something rubs a little it leaves indentation. It has no benefit other than the color is perfectly black with no logos on it (other products have their logo which I hate). It comes folded so there are creases you cannot get out. It came with damage because it is so delicate any improper handling will ruin it. You cannot remove this or I would have because it leaves a glue substance that takes hours to remove. It tears so easily if you pull too hard it rips and it sticks to your fingers and rips if you hold it too long. It is so bad you can not place it without leaving damage to the film.

Good isolation & sticks on surfaces. Definitely good purchase, needed it for my car engine isolation.

Not durable. As others have said, it is damaged extremely easily, but does conform well. If that will work for you, it is ok. I needed black, so I got this instead of aluminum. It is badly creased too. If there was a similar foam with a stiff, durable foam surface (like you find in some packaging, but with an adhesive backing), it would sell very well. I used it for hood insulation, we'll see how it goes. To install, only peel back an inch at a time, and press in place, pull a little more backing, repeat until done. Disappointed that it is so weak, should have read the reviews first.

No insonoriza una barbaridad, pero si no puedes aplicar una espuma más gruesa esta es adecuada. Eso sí, no la pongas en un lugar muy visible. El acabado no es estético. Es más para lugares ocultos.
