The Shop Company Retractable Seam Ripper (1 Pack)

I like the convenience of folding the ripper back in the handle. No more lost caps and accidental finger jabs. This is quite small and would fit nicely in a travel kit. It is sharp and does a good job. I've already used it.

Have only had it for a day, was so happy to receive it so promptly. Also wanted to see how the retractable feature operated. Very smooth and easy. Wonderful invention! Only used it once, will let you know if it holds up. Love the safety feature while protecting the point, which has broken on others more than once!

Plain junk way small.

This clever seam ripper with built-in cover is especially handy for travel, as most seam ripper covers get lost almost instantly. One star off for being a bit small for comfort, even for a small hand like mine, almost like a toy rather than a tool. However, it is functional and would be perfect for a little sewing emergency toolkit to carry on a trip. I would certainly buy another if they came out with a larger version.

I loved the concept and idea. If you have come across any of my other reviews, you will know I am extremely accident prone so folding it when not in use and being protected sounded like a dream come true. I gave two stars because it does tear seams. The problem is that it weighs about as much as a feather, and that is because it is almost all super thin plastic accept for the actual ripper That is super thin metal like material that bends and makes a noise of the metal going from bent to straight. Like a "doing" or almost spring like noise. I have only used it a few times out of fear that it will snap off and hurt me. Cute if you have a collection, but not practical.

the idea is great but the point has a burr and picks the fabric making unable to use.

I love it. I rip out a lot of seams and have used many different seam rippers and I like this best style of all. I do not find it difficult to hold and use. Folding design makes it compact and safe to carry. Also because it is flat, it does not roll off flat surfaces.

Safe to use and self-storing. I like these for guest rooms for Bed & Breakfast; AirBnB; daily use, stocking stuffers. I have not replaced my seam ripper in decades and lost it .... this was wonderful replacement and convenient * safe self-storing tool.
