I purchased this clock to wake my teenage son. The clock is readable and fashionable. On the back there is an on/off switch to turn the alarm on and off. The clocks hands and alarm hands only spin in one direction, it mentions in the directions that turning the incorrect direction can damage the clock, I have not tempted fate. I set the alarm on the way out the door for work and place the clock on the other side of the room. Sometimes my teenage son will sit up in bed and swear he is awake just so I wont set it and leave it. I still do it anyway. As one reviewer stated, it will wake the dead. My son said he grabs it by the bells until he can switch it off. I will make him take it to college. It was worth every penny.

Bought as gift for someone who sleeps through alarm, after abnoxious alarm, for hours. Successfully woke on first go, as well as confusing people outside. Pretty and has no snooze or excess functions (which was actually a goal in this case so he had to get out of bed and switch it off instead of accidentally turning things off/snoozing and returning to sleep). Finally can stop missing critical things :)
