Easy Portuguese Phrase Book: Over 1500 Common Phrases For Everyday Use And Travel

I am also learning Portuguese on Duolingo, but I feel like this book provides you with better everyday phrases. With this book I’m able to hold a conversation! If you have a foundation of Portuguese already, this book is a great addition.

We have a new English as a Second language program at the High school, so we wanted a few books our other students to use to learn how to communicate.

The only negative reviews about this book are irrelevant .. folks that did not read the description that states this is for Brazilian Portugues .. perhaps not familiar with 'Christ The Redeemer' on the cover (?) A good starting point for phases for someone new to the lanquage (which is not easy.)

I’m taking a trip to Portugal so I decided to purchase this audio book. I still haven’t completed it, it’s a little hard to follow. I’m only giving is a 3 star and will re-rate once I complete it. I don’t find it very upbeat so it’s hard to follow in that regard.

Bought this based on a review from another user. Didn’t realize until I got it that it is Brazilian Portuguese which is not as widely accepted in Portugal. Recommend another book if you want to learn European Portuguese.

I had high hopes for this book. But it’s full of phrases that are either outdated, or a normal person would never use. Recommend looking at a different option.

Dover's Portuguese grammar suggests learning some words and phrases from a book like this one, and then using the grammar to learn how to modify phrases for different times and people. Learning from a grammar without a moderate stock of phrases is not recommended. This phrase book even includes what to say to a rude person. I love the sentence: "You stole my shoes and I would like them back".

Not really what i thought it was , i really wanted a dictionary.

This book is great.Well laid out and topics covered are very helpful.Portuguese is not an easy language but this book definitely helps with pronouncation and vocabulary

Only phrases. Can’t find certain words easily. In a new country having key words may be all you need.
