the diameter is 3", I now use the h&g heated Sewer support that work well with my Sewer hose.

Yes we collapse ours down to 8’ ( without fittings) to fit in our 8’ pvc pipe carrier

How do you store the elbow with the handle sticking out?

We store all the components in a plastic bag in a tote.
