DELL PowerEdge R610 2 x 2.67Ghz E5640 Quad Core 48GB 4 x 146GB 10K SAS

Love the box, its solid. However, it shipped with 2x5645 hexa-core Xeon's rather than the advertised 2x5640 quad cores, so that was a nice surprise, but also came with 2x300GB SAS rather than the 4x146GB SAS I needed. I did contact the company twice, once to cancel the wrong box which I accidentally ordered over this one - that was handled quickly and efficiently. However, at time of ordering I did inquire about the possibility of ordering two more 146GB SAS to completely populate the drive bays and never heard back, which turns out was a blessing in disguise as I would not have been able to use them with the shipped configuration. Regardless, a wonderful price for a solid box. This reconditioned Dell R610 server is a great 1U rack mount server that still has a lot of milage left on it. The built-in RAID makes it perfect for a small business, school or home computer lab. The SAS drives can be replaced with laptop SATA drives or with SATA SSDs if you're concerned about the hours on the drives that were shipped. The 48GB RAM make this an excellent base for a VMWare demonstrator.The unit that I shipped was cleaned up well with not a trace of dust and showed only the slightest signs of even being used. The unit was well packaged and arrive in excellent shape. Shipping was quick and it arrived promptly as scheduled. It came with freshly formatted hard drives and was ready for whatever OS I wanted to place on it.This item is an excellent overall value by every way I can measure.

This server hands down is incredible for the money. I thought it would be very loud under even a light load. But no, its sounding more like a refrigerator than a hair dryer. Stays cool and is perfectly sized. On top of that PC Server and Parts customer service is top notch. I called on Tuesday asking if I ordered this Dell R610 that morning, could they ship it that same day. I live in the Washington, DC and not only did they make a concession to expedite my order, it arrived by Thursday!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I'm forever a customer. And for any additional stuff, they sell parts on their website!!!!!! This company is on point....FOREAL!!! PERIOD!!!!

Now I'm unsure it was the battery being a problem or the load on the device, but we had to upgrade the battery to the 717w versions to correct for this problem. Otherwise great server, It is still going strong inside our racks. This is a very good deal if your looking to get a cheap server on the fly. Would recommed.

The unit came in started it up works great two minor problems it was missing a power supply and no software was loaded, contacted the vendor they sent me a power supply mailed same day got it 2 days later works great, as for the software was going to load windows changed my mind loaded Linux SUSE which works great so far the only is the learning curve for Linux, would recommend the unit i will probable get another one.

I used to sell systems with PowerEdge units built in. At this price, it's an unbelievable bargain. They are a bit power hungry, but the one unit runs EVERYTHING I need in 2U. So it replaces several other PCs and servers for me. I recommend a 1500VA UPS to go with it. I also highly recommend this vendor; they're fantastic.

Server came in as described - tested all parameters/hardware and everything checks out. Both interior and exterior in great shape. Had a minor hiccup but a quick call to customer service had it all ironed out. Would buy from this seller again and would recommend to others!

Except many scratches on the cover and little dust inside, the quality of this server is acceptable. The foam covering the product is a little bit disgusting. When unboxing I got shocked by static electro TWICE (like a tiny, 4-inch version of lightning bolt touching my bare hand)!!! Then I used a wire to connect my grounded rack to it and eventually able to lift it. Please don’t make the same mistake as me. Still very disappointed tho, the server should have been wrapped in anti-static or something.
