My favorite mug
These cups are awesome. I broke my first one, I left it on the roof of my car, while looking for my keys and just drove off and heard it shatter in seconds. I was devastated. I had killed my favorite cup. I remember it was on sale at Staples or OfficeMax... I spent hours on Amazon looking for it until I found it. Anyway, the silicone grip and the silicone lid is nice and thick (TWSS) and is one of the main reasons I really like it. Other manufacturers with similar products really skimp on the silicone for the grips. The ceramic cup can get really hot, and the silicone grip does just the right amount of insulation to be warm enough to hold but not hot enough to burn. It's got a good weight to it, which sometimes can fool me into believing I still have coffee in it, but to my disappointment I usually need another refill. The lid snaps sealed-shut at the top which is really nice because there are absolutely no spills. I must warn you, if you chip the rim of the cup, you're going to have a bad time because that'll be a source for a leak. I bought a new one just for that, it felt like such a waste, but oh well. The rim of the cup looks quite fragile because the mug tapers in wall thickness with the thickest it seems at the bottom to quite thin towards the top rim of the cup. Which is good because it has a low center of gravity. With the silicone grip, it still fits snugly in my car's cup holder so that's a bonus.

GREAT OPTION FOR LARGER CERAMIC CUP
OK - I have spent aproximately 20 hours searching for the perfect coffee cup. To me that is:- Ceramic (not chemical leaching plastic or funny tasting - and often plastic lined - metal)- Keeps things warm for a reasonable amount of time- LARGE - holds at least 16 oz, but preferably 20oz (what the heck is the point of a 12oz to-go cup!?!)- Doesn't slosh around and drip coffee everywhereThis cup satisfies all of my requirements, some to the bare minimum, but it's the closest match I have found online (I did once find a set of 3 cups that were PERFECT at the Marshall's, but they all broke or were lost over time and I couldn't find them again). Some comments: - Ceramic (not chemical leaching plastic or funny tasting - and often plastic lined - metal)-------The cup is ceramic so check mark there. I wish they had more options for wrap color, but whatever, color is not even kind of on my list, the lid does have a smell to it (it's brand new, washed only once and the smell is vague and I would guess it will go away) most of these types of lids have a smell (except that perfect unicorn cup I found at marshalls. dang it.)- Keeps things warm for a reasonable amount of time-------They get a check minus on this one. It's not double walled (none this size are) so coffee did get cold rather quickly, but I am more of a quantity than quality kind of person, I can always warm it up so this is ok with me.- LARGE - holds at least 16 oz, but preferably 20oz (what the heck is the point of a 12oz to-go cup!?!)-------Check, appears to me to hold 16oz (I haven't measured, but they are bigger than the other ceramic cups I have, which are 12oz) I can't figure out why no one makes a larger version of this type of cup.- Doesn't slosh around and drip coffee everywhere-------This does as reasonable job as I would expect from these types of cups. No drips, doesn't slosh around in the car. If you want to throw it in your purse you are in the wrong spot. Definitely get the OXO GoodGrips Liquiseal. Best cup EVER (big, keeps coffee hot, never spills) but it's plastic.

It works, sort of.
I bought this mug after much searching because it was the only microwave-safe, non-plastic travel mug that I could find that didn't have a review complaining about leakage. I regret to inform you, that the lack of reviews complaining about this problem is not an indication that it does not exist. The trouble seems to be that the silicon lid expands when exposed to heat, therefore when the beverage is steaming hot a gap forms between the cup and the lid. This problem is irritating and inconvenient, but the lid fits snugly for the majority of the time that the beverage is of drinkable temperature. I do, however, have some trouble with it dripping due to the sloshing produced by walking.A far as insulation goes, I microwave it before walking to class (which takes about 15 minutes, in Los Angeles weather, so not super cold), and I find that it is pleasantly warm for about a half an hour after that. I don't know how this temperature retention relates to other mugs, but I thought I'd put it out here. The volume of this mug relative to it's weight is slightly less than desirable but I think that is to be expected from a ceramic cup. It's grip is fairly comfortable. This product could easily get a higher rating if the leaky lid design flaw could be overcome.

Great- while it lasted.
The Eco Cup was great. It has style(yes, a little weird to say about a cup), it was easy to clean, it kept my coffee nice and hot, and the silicone kept it cool to the touch. But, it after normal use it developed a crack from top to bottom straight through the porcelain. What a shame. 1 star.
