Picks up wifi signal from router in garage about 100 feet away. If you use a usb extension over about 14 feet be sure it's an active one so the signal is not degraded. You will probably loose some speed at the mentioned distance but such is expected. Review: Very good signal and speed. - Edit: Lowering to 1 star. This product doesn't even work any more. ----------------------- Lowering rating to 3 stars. After a few months of utilization, I see a lot of packets loss and I don't get maximum speed anymore. My MacBook Pro gets much better speeds now, which wasn't the case when I bought this unit. Keep in mind this is cheap hardware and you shouldn't expect much from it. ------------------------ Order came on time, easy to install (plug and play on Windows 10). I was a little bit skeptical because of all the "discount" reviews but this thing is actually pretty good. I get over 240Mbps (max internet speed) in a 3 bedrooms house on the 5GHz band. I didn't even try the 2,4GHz band because I was getting good signal everywhere. It definitely beats hands down all the USB (and even PCI-E) wifi cards that I have. Definitely recommended for the price if you're looking to get a strong signal (on a desktop computer) in a bigger house.

Amazing signal strength!!
I'm really amazed with this product! I got it hoping that I can pick up my landlords WiFi signal from 3 floors up. On my cell phone I get like one bar, and on my computer internal PCI WiFi card, it wasn't even picked up at all. So I wanted to see if with this thing connected I could maybe pick it up. And boy does it! I get full bars with this. A Strong signal like it's here in the room. Unbelievable! And it also shows a long list of networks I never even saw before from all around me. This thing is amazing! Now I can calmly cancel my Fios account....cause I got free internet today thanks to this product. Thanks! P.S. I am a little worried about the reviews saying that it got weaker after a few months. I see this issue mentioned with these types of products. Even on a router I wanted to purchase here before, I read the same thing there. That it worked great, but after a couple of months the signal would start getting weaker. So I was a little hesitant after reading the same thing here. But I figured even if let's say I have to purchase one of these every 4 - 6 months. It's still not bad, since this is getting me internet for free. So $15 every few months is still worth it for me. And let's see, maybe it will keep working fine. Maybe those people did something wrong, or maybe theirs got defective or damaged. Or who knows what. I will try to remember to come back here and edit the review in a couple of months or so with an update of the situation

Great for 3hrs!
Worked for roughly 3 hours now my laptop says can't find a driver even if I use the included disk that came with it! My network is super hacked though so could be that, that's causing it not to work.

Works well but not as advertised. Poor software/driver intstall.
Works well after some work! 1st thing is does not load driver(s) when connecting to computer as it stated it does. I tried this several times and restarted p.c. without result. Very annoying. Loaded software which worked well then nothing came up after or prompted to go further....no driver!!!!!. Long story short, had to locate this "unable to detect driver" deep in the network settings and enter my security key. It works fine since but without the graph as promised. The little hard to read manual in inaccurate and not well written! No 800# for tech. support either. Very frustrating but working well. UPDATED- Well it's been less than a year and it constantly drops signal and you literally have to unplug then plug back in for it to work. Now, it stopped communicating all together. Driver is current. Very disappointed.

Bad....
Bad news on this, lasted one month and 2.4 GHz went dead, encryption scrambled can't connect to five GHz. Completely useless, send e-mail to customer service and no response.

Works fine, no complain after a month os use
I am using it for more than a month already, and I would say I am quite satisfied. It looks nice, it works properly, it has no issues with my laptop (Win10, x64). Strength of signal while using the device is indicated much higher than when I use my integrated Qualcomm card. The connection is usually stable. At some point it started to regularly loose a connection, but then everything got well again. Not sure what has caused it. I am using it quite extensively. 10- 12 hours a day - it doesn't get overheated. It definitely makes a difference when I connect using it to public hotspots at some longer distance. As for cons, I would say they are insignificant. For example , the cable is not something nice to have if you have to connect it to the left, right, or front part of your laptop. The device itself is very light, and therefore unstable on a surface. Bottom line - it's not a miracle adapter, so it won't let you reach any AP, but if you want to enhance a receivable signal, it works fine.

Better than EDUP Black
BUY this one instead of "EDUP black one" for the same price the black one has given nothing but trouble since the 1st day its crap and over heats. THIS WHITE one is working with no need to disconnect it from power to reboot it Its fast and just works great i liked it so much I bought 3 of them
