Amazing knife when you need to slice everything around you razor thin!
I cannot say enough about how much I really do love this knife. As a person that has spent the last 22 years slowly learning what to look for when trying to find a knife, believe me when I say that this is one is easily among my top 3! I do not buy knives based off of name alone (but i do love almost everything about Benchmade knives...except the price!) but I am a rather demanding person who typically uses my knives more than most of my coworkers. Here's my Top 3 breakdown in case anyone is wondering: Top 3: #1 - Benchmade Bedlam 860 Knife, Scimitar (this is my standard go to knife for just about everything #2 - Katsu Razor Knife #3 - Benchmade Infidel Automatic OTF (not a particularly useful knife but the quality and blade strength are amazing...plus it's an OTF!) Pros: - Sharp as hell out of the box! Can shave your arm and leave it feeling smooth as butter. - Small enough to easily be considered an every day carry (EDC) knife - Easy to sharpen - Very unique look. Honestly resembles a straight razor - Deploys from closed to open and back very quick and smooth Cons: - Could use a little stiffer mechanism to keep the blade in the closed position. This bad boy will open with the slightest bit of effort which manages to be both a good and a bad thing. Also: - Blade will dull quickly with heavy use. I would not consider this a heavy duty utility type blade; however; it will have zero problem cutting anything as long as the blade is sharp (duh). But....because it is such a breeze to resharpen this is hardly an issue. - Makes a terrible hammer! Well there ya go. An amazing knife at an equally amazing price! Believe me when I say you cannot go wrong with this blade!!

Sharp. Durable. Unique.
The first thing that caught my eye about this blade was what catches almost everyone's eye. The unique design. The blade its self is extremely sharp out of the box, and the solid construction combined with the G10 handles give it a very sturdy feel. There is no rattling or play anywhere on this knife which is a strong indicator of quality craftsmanship. The blade opens smoothly and quietly with not catches. The clasp on the side is also made of very solid metal and flexes just enough to clip onto your pocket (which is how I prefer to carry this knife). Almost every area of the spine has been rounded smooth, leaving no rough edges. (there is a slight rough edge on the tip of the finger lever to draw the blade, but that is it). Most pocket knives have a bit of play in the joint, where the blade and the handle meet due to mass part manufacturing. This blade does not, further displaying its quality. The knife has a very sharp edge right out of the box.

Good quality for acquired
Not bad for the price. Really a 4.5 star rating. Might change the rating to a 5 star based since the build to price ratio is comparable. Feels light and ergonomic. Definitely EDC style. Bamboo design helps fingers wrap into the grooves. Tighter tolerances than expected. Blade doesn't wiggle at all. Locks solidly. Great thumb rest along the spine. Blade comes razor sharp out the box with a better than expected grind (resembling typical Japanese kitchen knife tapers). Very smooth action unlike the carbon/titanium one which costs ~3 times the price. I can see myself getting use to the deployment, but not my cup of tea. If you like this type of deployment, you'll enjoy this knife.

Holds an Edge. Easy to sharpen.
Great, Solid Folding Knife. Knife takes well to sharpening Stone and leather strop. If careful, a blistering sharp edge is possible. Arrived very sharp. Came with a cute, albeit useless drawstring bag. Cleans up easily. I carry this knife to work everyday. Very useful. Positive lock. Blade Doesn't wobble. But if it did it can easily be tightened with a small hex key wrench. I misplaced this once for about 2 weeks and was ready to purchase the Katsu again. Fortunately found it. Of the zillion or so knives out there to choose from that comment alone should tell you all you need to know. My ONLY complaint is with the pocket or belt clip. The very end of the clip arcs or bends outward to facilitate clipping it into the Jean coin pocket. As I pull my hands out of my Jean pockets the end of the clip scrapes painfully across my hand. Katsu has made an almost perfect folding here. Recommend.

The only pocket knife to have
So far I've only had this for a week and I'm fairly certain this may be the last brand of knife i ever buy. Very sturdy and is 100% without flaws. First day i used this thing it was at work. Normally strip wires with my teeth and thought we'll really test this baby and make it need sharpened. So i used it to cut through small electric cables and insulation. To my amazement there was 0 resistance to cutting. Also after doing this there was no divot in the blade from when it cut the wires. Used it to open plenty of boxes, remove zip ties and this thing just holds an edge like no other. I'm a person who unboxes and assembles/delivers new appliances daily. And all the cardboard, tape and fishing line this thing has seen has done nothing. Going to be nervous sharpening this one, i want to keep it perfect. Not sure how much of this is handmade but it's amazing how great this thing fits in your hand and on your pocket lip, cuts, locks firm...i can't say enough. I'm very pleased, I've spent way more on much less quality.

Should be priced higher!
I just received the knife so i can’t attest to anything long term but i can say that the build quality and fit and finish is outstanding. Blanket lock up is solid with absolutely no play from the liner lock. Blade deployment is smooth and easy yet has enough tension to keep the blade firmly closed when in your pocket. Blade deployment is easy using your thumb and cans be opened and closed easily with one hand. The blade comes shaving sharp and is well finished. A very nice knife for the price. Highly recomend!
