Mine doesn't sleep even though I did a few days ago…

It worked pretty well for my son. Maybe the cord needs to be completely re-wrapped ?

Depends on the user. It sleeps well. Definitely does not seem to sleep as well as late 90s early 2000s yo yos of same maker.

Why won’t the string wrap up?

It probably will, you just have to hold it just right. Try holding a small section at the base, and wrapping it up that way. It isn’t the smoothest method, but it’ll be wrapped up without any tangles.

I haven't owned one of these in awhile, but is it supposed to arrive with a chip in the edge? Could've sworn my old Fireball was perfectly smooth..
