Very solid and well-made, there is a strap inside to prevent over-opening. I did remove it for a more realistic look, but then quickly realized why it was there; the hinges are not made large enough to support full opening, due to the solid build and weight of the chest. this is my error, not the makers. so leave the strap in place. I love it.

The chest isn't large, but more than enough room when you start adding doubloons! This was a gift for my 12 year old grandson. I went to the bank and got a roll of gold dollars, silver half dollars, a roll of quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies. It barely filled the bottom. I ended up getting more half dollars and quarters to make it look like he was getting a huge treasure. In reality I guess he was for his age. He absolutely loved it and its held up to his abuse at looking at it constantly. It is very heavy. Good buy and grandma got gift if the year award!

So overall I was very pleased. Nice size but lacked some detail. Still would recommend. Used for Goonies display.

Like I mentioned above, it was a very nice looking piece but it was a little too small so I returned it. I guess it depends on what you want it for but I wish they were available in several sizes.

I used it for my pirate collection. It was packaged great. Love it.

Very cute and nicely detailed! My only complaint would be the hinges to the lid were lose, took some effort to get them right. Other then that, I love it!

The product is bigger than I imagined. Feels pretty solid too. It's actually a gift for somebody and I'm jealous that I'm giving it to them. Going to buy a second one for myself.
