Can you wear these with short hair?

Absolutely! I have short hair and wear them all the time.

Thin enough you wont get sweaty, but they are durable and strong. They feel like quality fabric headbands and they hold really well for me. think your favorite softest shirt material and thickness.

Do these feel silky or cottony?

The feel more like cotton but with stretch. They are very smooth like good opaque tights but are not silky to touch.
