Nice and thick magnetic tape. Adhesive is decently solid. Not super sticky but works well on drywall and fabric pieces which are the applications I’ve used it on so far. Magnet itself sticks well, about a medium hold. Not super strong, but with a size and tape like this, that’s not to be expected. Not to say that it’s weak. It still has enough magnetic power to snap through some curtain fabric that I’m using it for. Would buy again.

After reading all the negative reviews about the poor magnetic and adhesive properties of this tape, I hesitated to make this purchase. However, since it had the potential of providing such an elegant solution to my problem, I did so anyway and am very pleased that I did. I found the adhesive and magnetic properties of this tape to be better than expected. I needed to temporarily cover a ventilation return vent (22” x 22”) located in the ceiling. I needed something effective, easy to install and easy to remove. I cut a piece of poster board the right size and attached strips of this magnetic tape to its perimeter. It holds the cover to the ceiling very well. In fact, the magnet for this application is so strong that if the cover is not aligned quite right, I have to completely remove it and reattach it since moving it while in place is almost impossible. It should be pointed out that the adhesive backing will only attach to a surface that is conducive for that purpose. Furthermore, that surface must be clean and dry. By the same token, the magnet will only hold items that are slightly heavier than the tape itself (note this ambiguous description on the web site: “1.5 oz (~50 gram) can be held easily with a short strip”. Furthermore, the instructions claim the magnet will adhere to any metallic surface. That is misleading since it must be a FERROUS metallic material (certainly, most folks would know that).

I was pleasantly surprised by this magnetic tape. The magnetic strength is quite good for the type of product it is, and the adhesive backing is excellent. Once applied to a clean surface, it stays put and doesn't seem eager to peel away. I've used weaker magnetic tape in the past, but this strikes a nice balance between holding power and ease of use. It worked exactly as expected for my project, and I would purchase it again.

I think flexible magnets just aren't very strong. I wanted to use this to create a magnetic cornhole score board. But magnetically it was just not strong enough to hold the lightweight scoring piece to it.

Wow! I am actually very impressed with this magnetic tape. I used it for some small projects and it worked just fine. Decided to see if I could get it to adhere to a plywood panel I was going to attach to my dishwasher before breaking out the construction adhesive and it STICKS! I definitely used more than needed because of my distrust of the tape, but I’m very impressed after seeing how well it holds up that plywood.

I purchased this to hang an insulated vent cover, which weighed less that 1 lb , over my return air vent. The only thing that stuck was the 3m tape that secured the magnetic tape that the insulated cover. The magnetic tape would not stick to the metal vent at all. I could not return the tape for a refund because it was stuck to the insulated cover. I had to use Velcro to put up the cover. This was a waste of money !

I really expected a product that would work. I was going to use it for my sockets, in my mechanical toolbox. I tried to have the tape pick-up my nail clipper, but it would not stick, unless it sat on top. Disappointed, I immediately contacted Amazon to return this item as it not worth the $40+ CAD. At least the return will not cost me shipping cost. Maybe the tape is demagnified during shipping, or being rolled up, but the fact remains that it does not work as described. I would not recommend this product.
