Very good antenna

I've been on the hunt for years hoping a decent BNC telescopic such as this would show up for 27Mhz so when I sore the listing for this I ordered it on the spot. I've always been facinated with DXing on 27Mhz so for the price this is an absolute bargain. Years a go, I used to have a TNC antenna similar to this with fairly decent performance but I managed to break it in India (57 division). These are perfect for taking on holiday and won't attract undue attention. I've already tried this with my trusty Albrecht 2990AFS handheld from the garden and got into south Italy with a 5/3 report which is impressive considering I haven't charged my AA's up in absolutely ages. Just for fun I decided to hook this up to an RM KL-35 powered by my compact 12V 10AH LFP battery which shot the signal up to a 5/8 so very pleased. In the name of science, I decided to hook this up to my Alinco DX-10 placed on a small table in the loft to see how the radio would behave and I was shocked at full power which is around 25W on SSB it was giving me an SWR of 1.8 on the tripple 5. I have TSR protection enabled on the radio which works fine if there was a really bad missmatch so I was very surprised the radio was fairly happy. Of course nothing beats a T2LT on a pole when out portable over the summer but in a pinch this antenna does the job and is way better than the ancient imports that you'd find on the other place which used to cost an arm and a leg. If I end up going on holiday over the summer, this will come on my travels with my radio kit as this should be great fun to use on a hill top or at the beach. I've got a right angled PL259 adapter so its a doddle hooking this up to a standard radio. Of course, you'll need a SO239 to BNC adapter. My antenna arived in a sealed plastic bag so it was completely brand new and had a bit of oil on all the telescopic sections which is fantastic as the sections slide up and down very smoothly. For an absolute age, I've got a Watson AT-10 telescopic BNC antenna which receives fairly well on 27 megs but the Alinco isn't very happy with it. This 27 megs antenna is a few CM shorter than the W-10 but RX is a couple of S-points stronger and the SWR is manageable. I'm going to try sticking this on a tin using an old large magmount just to see how it responds. This is way better than the ancient imports as this happily handles 20W plus absolutely fine but I wouldn't try pushing more than 30W in for any length of time which is of course more than enough for its intended use and with a handhelds 2/3W there is no issue with damaging the coil. So if you are on the fence about pulling the trigger on this, go on go for it you'll be surprised how far a couple of watts will get you especially with how conditions are at the moment and over the summer, I'll have great fun with this hopefully making contacts across the EU so this comes 100% highly recommended. Very long when fully extended and for 27megs or 11.meters works well ,good quality and value for the money

Cette antenne pour CB mobile apporte un réel gain de performance par rapport à l'antenne d'origine (Midland Alan 42). On sent vraiment une nette amélioration des transmissions et réceptions. L'encombrement est forcément légèrement plus important en position pliée mais celà reste positif. Je recommande.

L'antenna sembra di buona qualità. Non ho potuto provarla strumentalmente, almeno per il momento, ma il segnale mostrato a video sul CB è di due tacche a confronto della sola tacca dell'antenna originale. Le sezioni si estraggono con una certa forza, segno che non dovrebbero mollarsi presto. Gli ultimi tratti sono resistenti e non sembrano piegarsi facilmente. Attacco bnc di buona qualità.
