Perfect solution for digital sound from TV without sound output
This little gadget met my needs perfectly. I have an old Sony HT-CT150 sound bar that I bought in 2012. It has HDMI input/output but the HDMI function stopped working a couple years ago. So I used a digital optical (TOS-LINK) cable to connect it to my previous TV's optical audio output and this worked fine until the TV bit the dust recently after an electrical storm. My new TV (a 28 inch LG that I keep on my desk) has absolutely no audio output. Not even an earphone jack and of course the sound from the tiny TV speakers sucks. So I was contemplating buying a new sound bar that would have cost around $150 (with sub woofer and HDMI in/out ports). This little device showed up in my Amazon search and I decided to give it a try, especially for the price. Bingo! It works perfectly! I can now use my old sound bar with my new TV via the digital optical TOS-LINK port on this iArkPower audio extractor. The device in no way affects the picture quality of the TV signal and the lip-sync with the sound is still perfect. As long as this device holds up over time, I will be happy. It is very small yet heavy and well-constructed, which I wasn't expecting. (Usually something at this price point feels cheap, but this device is very sturdy.)The only minor gripe I have is the location of the ports; I wish they were all on one side for better cable management. But it really isn't an issue because I hid the device behind the TV.

Full, Sharp, 5.1 Audio---The Best Features
I am extremely pleased by the crisp and full-range audio this little gadget extracts from HDMI. I was previously using a USB 3.0 port with a dongle that adapted it to optical digital. It worked, but did not produce the razor-sharp clarity or range for music and voice that this iARK box delivers. I won't need to use the closed-captions nearly as much to understand all that is being said in online movies. Check out the features---optical, co-axial and L-R analog outputs, among other options that allow connection to many other types of equipment.I actually had one of this model before and it worked flawlessly for 3 years. Then, it began occasionally cutting-out. Sometimes, it would work for a month and then begin flickering off and on for awhile again. I had planned on replacing it with another brand, but there seems to be nothing else with all these features. If this new one gives me just 3 more years of good service, I won't complain, as it's not a high price to pay for the performance and connectivity options.

Works great with only one recurring issue - occasional audio stutter
I've had this splitter for about 1.5 years now, and have used it nearly daily. Overall it works great, exactly as described, and I'm quite happy with it. There is just one recurring issue that keeps me from giving it 5 stars.Occasionally when using this splitter, the audio will cut out for a moment or two, usually no more than 1 second. As another reviewer described, it almost feels as if some kind of buffer is overflowing and resetting, with the audio coming back in sync right after. In my case it doesn't happen nearly as frequently as the other reviewer experienced, but it's definitely a recurring issue - about once every hour or two. It's not always very obivous, but it can be jarring when it happens during louder or high tension scenes when you really notice a sudden silence.Again, in the grand scheme of things this product works just fine and makes the overall media experience a much better one. If it didn't have the audio occasionally cut out it would pretty much be an easy 5/5.

Simple, Effective, Great Customer Service
This product is a good value for money, and does exactly what you'd expect. I use it in the following setup:Apple TV ---> HDMI Splitter (using HDMI Cable)HDMI Splitter ---> Vizio SoundBar (using RCA Cable)HDMI Splitter ---> Overhead Projector (using HDMI Cable)Both picture and sound quality are excellent. I've been extremely happy with my purchase. The only drawback (for which I gave 4 stars in Picture quality) is that somehow the AppleTV does not recognize that the HDMI Splitter can accept high-def resolution, and consequently often sends a lower resolution image to the splitter. (If I bypass the splitter and go directly to the Overhead Projector, the resolution is sent correctly). There is a workaround for hte problem; manually select the correct resolution in the "Settings" section of the AppleTV, but the AppleTV frequently resets to the low-def resolution so it's a bit annoying to have to go in everytime to fix it.All that said, I'd add that the customer service with iArtk is fantastic. I had an issue with the product while it was under warranty, sent them an email, and they had a replacement product in the mail to me within two days. I couldn't have asked for a smoother experience.

It worked until it didn't
This device worked great for about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, it then dropped the HDMI connection and the link light went out. Checking all the connections only resulted in the link light coming on for about a second and then going out. While it was working, the sound and picture quality were great. I did see Amazon's warning about the high number of returns but decided to take a chance. This device is one of only a few that say that all 3 outputs were live simultaneously. My Onkyo 616 receiver does not have a Line Out RCA connection. So, I need a device that will support 4k HDMI Pass Through as well as an Analog Line Out RCA R/L connection working simultaneoously. This device would have made that happen had it worked. Disappointed.

Product performs flawlessly as advertised
I needed the means to hear the audio output from a firestick, blueray player and roku system on an Amazon sound bar. The HDMI input for the three devices to the Samsung TV which has no audio output was connected to iArkPower HDMI audio extractor. The HDMI output from the extractor was then connected to the HDMI input on the TV and the audio optical output to the soundbar. Both picture and sound quality is superb. Connection was simple and quick.
