Very unhappy with this purchase. It is in fact solid cherry wood, however, very badly crafted. Item arrived badly finished and damaged, as shown in pictures.

I love it! Very pretty and came super fast. The only thing I would change is that the stand needs to be up against something or it goes to the lowest position (at least when a cookbook is sitting on it) - I wish it had notches to hold it at a certain angle. Works for me though because I planned to put it in a corner on my counter!
