A common sense approach to Fat Loss through nutrition, supplementation and exercise.
Iโve been pursuing my personal fitness journey for 10 plus years. Iโve read multiple news stand magazines, book, and hundreds of published articles on the internet. Iโve seen the good and the bad from all these sources. This is easily the BEST of the โgoodโ. What stands out about Johnโs book is simple. First, even though Johnโs academic credentials and certificates required a great deal of intellectual capability to achieve, the book is written in a style that is comprehendable by someone who has little-to-no nutritional, supplementation, or training experience, too the most seasoned physique competitor. Second, this is the first book Iโve read that teaches you (in detail) how to establish your baseline approach to fat loss in regards to nutrition and training, as well as adjust the plan mid-stride if your body isnโt responding as planned. His flexible dieting approach is unique and creative, allowing you to develop a nutrition, supplementation, and fitness plan that is flexible and easy to adhere to over the long haul. To be brutally honest, this type of information is something I would gladly (and have) paid trainers to explain and teach to me. Finally, this is the ONLY book Iโve read that puts all of this information in one place. Like I said earlier, Iโve researched these same topics many times, only to become frustrated by missing or incomplete information that ultimately hindered my success.Finally, John is the host of the podcast the โTraining and Nutrition Truth (TNT)โ which I have started listening to as a result of this book. It expands on many of these topics to provide for an even deeper understanding of the concepts described. Take my advice. Buy the book, listen to the podcast. Itโs time and money well spent on yourself. Itโs changed my life.

A must buy if your intentions are to keep the weight off
This book is the perfect tool if youโre trying to lose weight and leave it off, many of the dieting books that you find on the shelves donโt cut the mustard, they only talk about how to lose the fat quickly, and do not explain how to keep it off. However, this book covers more than that, it explains how to keep the weight off after youโve attained the weight that youโre looking for, with a sensible eating plan and exercise. One of the points that stuck out for me was cardio, with over 20 years in the military we mainly did cardio, this cardio was a Steady State form of cardio, John explains that High-Intensity Interval Training is actually a better way to burn fat. Steady-state cardio is aerobic and requires oxygen and is fueled mostly by stored fat. HIIT, by contrast, is anaerobic and the work intervals donโt rely exclusively on oxygen, and are fueled mostly by stored carbohydrates. Counter intuitively, HIIT makes you breathe harder, and burns more fat, than steady-state cardio over a longer period of time. Very good book and I would recommend it to anyone that is serious about shedding the weight the proper way with the intention of keeping it off.VrSteve Courtemanche

Easy to understand, complete information for sustainable fat loss and flexible dieting
Happy to see this Kindle edition so I can have the book wherever I go to reference. John's experience, knowledge and passion for sharing it are evident from the beginning. He's a no BS guy that honestly wants to help people achieve their health goals in way that is sustainable. The information is easy to understand. As a new trainer, I felt I had a much better understanding of the subject than reading through my certification textbook. It's not as dry. You will feel confident in applying the knowledge to your life. Included are the specifics of macros - what they are, what it means when tracking, how to track; what protein, carbs and fats are and how they work in your body; details for figuring out your daily cals; a plan to combine carb cycling with workouts plus workout plans for beginners, intermediate and advanced folks plus so much more ("cheat days", refeeding, supplements etc). Simply put, this book is for everyone. Don't hesitate to buy it!

Keeping It Simple And Straight!
Fat loss is without a doubt one of the most difficult things on the planet. You'll have better luck nailing jello to the wall!Now, why is shedding a few pounds difficult? Because we make it that way on ourselves!Whether it be following the latest trends idiots on tv tell us, or going into panic mode easily at the first sign of a plateau. It happens to the best of us, it certainly has for me too.John's book lays it all on the table, and gives great advice and tools for calculating your calories and macros (let's face it. The counters online are bulls*** and each one is different than the other!) beginner to advanced supplementation and training programs, how to get the most from carb cycling. Most important, it's presented in a way a 1st grader can comprehend it!I could list stuff all day, but I'd be spoiling the whole book!Whether today is your first day, or you've been at this for a while and would love to hear another's insight, order this book asap. For $14 it really is a steal! The

I love to read
I love to read, but because of my eyesight I can't for long periods of time. However, John selected a font that made it easy for me to read in a short amount of time. I'm thankful for his simple approach to flexible eating and for sharing his experiences and knowledge. John makes it easy to implement a healthy lifestyle...you just have to plan if you want to succeed. Invest in yourself and take time to read the book. I have worked with Leslie Franklin, a part owner of his team, and she did an amazing job to get me started and stay on course. I suffered an injury and was unable to workout like my body was accumstomed for a period of time, but this book has given me a gentle reminder of the ways to get back and take care of my body and still appreciate food. God gives you one body so do your best to take care of it and enjoy life.

Learn from one of the best!
John is someone that I've been following for a while and a guy that I look up to and respect in the fitness industry. If you're a trainer or diet coach or even someone that's looking for an easy to read and understand method to structuring your diet and training to help you get results then this is a must. I can't recommend this book enough!

A great guide for beginners to athletes
