Easy install, fit like factory, works like a charm. Just reset your ECU-B fuse when done.
Easy install, fit like factory, works like a charm. Just reset your ECU-B fuse when done. When I was all done, the switch would not open the tailgate although I could hear the motor. If you open the fuses next to the battery and pull out ECU-B for 15 seconds, it will reset the electronics in the back. After that hit the lock on your remote, unlock twice and the rear switch works again.

A Sigh of Relief
Fit my Toyota 4Runner 2008 SR5 2WD. Easy to install, saved me $500, mechanic told me I would have to replace the whole hatch from dealer. Worked immediately with zero configuration on my part. Outstanding.

Poor Quality
I replaced this in November of 2024 and the trunk began working again with excellence. Unfortunately, around April 2025 the actuator began to slow down and now does not work at all. There is a potential that this is a car electrical error but the fact that this part fixed the problem without any issues for several months makes me think that the actuator went bad only after a few months of use. I am not happy with the quality of this product.

Worth the DIY
definitely worth the effort to replace it vs. a $1200 estimate to replace it by the dealer. It took my 10 minutes to do this with help from Youtube Video. DIY Overdrive. Make sure after you install it you disconnect battery for three minutes and hit lock button three times to activate the part.

2004 Toyota 4 runner lock reset sequence required!
No instruction, but the tube will guide you. Pretty plug and play except! You must know the secret chant to get your car to wed its new bit. After install you have to disconnect the battery for a good 30s, re connect and cycle the door locks 3 times to recant the enchantment of the master dungeon key. So that your car will communicate with her new hatch parts. (No really it’s a thing)

Would not recommend
Worked fine for a while and then it failed a little after 1 year of purchase. Warranty no longer applies... Not a quality replacement...
