The push bar tubes worked for a while, but were unfortunately cut too short before installation; as a result the tubes would come loose from the attached tube holders on each side of the door frame. The M-D Building Products 33167 8" x 32" Screen Door Push Grill solved our problem as the device attaches directly to the screen frame, not the door frame, which makes it much easier to replace the screen door from season to season. Although there was initial concern about the proper dimension fitting the screen frame, a bit of coaxing the M-D Push Grill into place with smaller metal screws solved the problem. The metal screws supplied with the M-D Screen Door Push Grill were too long to safely insert into the screen door frame. The beauty of this item is that no longer do we worry about damaging our screen door when we go out each day. This Screen door is a pocket door. Both screen and window slid inside. I'm not quite clear if 32" should be the width of my door of the width of my screen.** A: 32" is end to end. Hole to hole is a bit less. The part that covers the screen is only 20". Go for the 36" for greater screen coverage (24"). **Q: Is this 8 inchs tall and 32 inches wide?** A: No, it was not 32" wide. I had to return it and order the next larger one. I then used a hack saw to cut it down to the 32" I needed, which worked **Q: My screen door is 35" which includes framr. The screen area to be covered is 31 1/2" . What size protector should I buy??** A: I would buy one that covers the screen plus 2” each side that goes over wood door for screwing it on. Mine covers most of screen minus 1” each side.
