I really like this toaster! It’s easy to use, toasts the bread evenly, and works quickly. It looks nice on the kitchen counter and is easy to clean. Great quality for the price. Very happy with this purchase!

Works well for bagels and thick slices of bread.

After looking at far too many toasters to replace my old one which had finally kicked the bucket, I settled on this because of the reviews and the price. I didn't want to spend and arm and a leg, but also wanted a good toaster with slots wide enough for bagels. I've used it about 3-4 times a week for a month now, and get this....it toasts the bread! A few things of note:1. I recommend running it through a cycle before toasting anything because there's a noxious smell that comes out the first time you use it. I haven't smelled it since then though which is good.2. The attached pictures are from the first pieces of bread that I toasted on a setting of 4. As you can see, the top started to burn while the bottoms are barely toasted, so I had to pop it up before the cycle was over. I now use it at about a 3 and haven't had any burnt tops, but I also still pop it up before the cycle's over (mainly because I have a VERY sensitive fire alarm).3. Don't expect uniformly toasted bread, but it's nice and crispy all over, and gets the job done.4. You have to cycle through twice to even get it brown. I've not tried anything over a 4, but it will always pop up prematurely without even being browned. Simple solution: simply push the knob back down and it will cook on this second try. This isn't a big deal for me because my last toaster did the same thing.5. The bagel function works exactly as it should by toasting only one side, and leaving the other nice and soft. I will say the downside is that it sometimes takes three cycles to get it actually toasted, but I don't mind because I flip it each time for an even toasting.

The Proctor Silex 2-slice toaster (verified Amazon purchase) was a nightmare. Stay away. But this replacement seems to have what I expect. The eject is easy, the slices are toasted evenly... The other toaster toasted one side better (fine if you're in England) and went nuclear hot on the next toasting; the toast caught fire. Will see if the HB lasts. Many toasters don't.

Got my toaster today, and I was very impressed with it. One thing I love about it. It is the same color as the new cookware that I just got. Looks really nice. I order it on Sunday and it arrived quickly today.

I read the description, even went to the Hamilton Beach website to verify the "Bagel" option. I was looking for a toaster that shuts off part of the heating elements when toasting bagels so that only the cut side is toasted, this also works well for hamburger buns. The description both places didn't say whether this toaster shuts off part of the elements, only that it would make the cut side of bagels toasty and only warm the other side. Nope, it toasts both sides, all the bagel setting does is to increase the cycle time.This toaster also arrived with the lever jammed and at first did not want to push down to begin the toasting cycle. After several attempts of jiggling/wiggling the handle it finally did push down, however it would still get stuck about every other use. I only used the unit a total of 4 times before returning it after determining that it did NOT work as expected. The toast it made was however very evenly toasted and this toaster has a small countertop footprint. If you're just looking for a simple toaster that makes regular toast real well, this is a great choice. If you're looking for a true bagel toaster that will only toast once side, this is not the unit you want.

I just needed a simple toaster, nothing fancy, and this does the trick. Works well, looks nice, doesn’t take up too much space. It’s held up just fine for a month now. Works for my bagels when cut in half. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is because it seems to get way too hot for anything anyone would want to eat if dialed up anywhere past the medium setting. We burned a few things figuring out that you don’t need to dial it up very far to get the job done. But now we know and we’re fine with it. It was a very good price for the quality so I would buy again.

It is a 2 slice toaster. It does have wide slots that fits bagels or even texas toast quite well.It does toast things with electric heat elements.It won't bring you joy or fulfillment, thats what bread and butter are for.

It works well, but there was strong smell of plastic when first turned on. I assumed it might be that way as most appliances seem to rarely be tested or cleaned in advance. After about 10 minutes, the plastic smell went away.The toaster worked well, like a toaster been using for a week now.
