These are marketed for carpet, but has anyone used these on vinyl and/or wood floors?

I have used them on a wood floor. You just need to make sure there is no grit underneath so the floor doesn't get scratched if you move the furniture.

What do you reccommend for a VERY heavy bookshelf - 1 ft. deep  x  2 1/2 ft. wide x 6 1/2 ft. high? Thanks.

Hi-I would base the size of the sliders on the size and shape of the feet or the bottom edge of the bookshelf. I don't know the weight limit for the sliders. That might be a question best addressed by the company. Books, especially hard bound are very heavy. Take care moving the filled bookshelf. Those can be top heavy and dangerous to move, due to the weight of it. Based on the dimensions you mentioned, a rectangular or square slider at each corner should support the unit. Can these handle the weight of a full fridge if moving out slight to clean behind it?

Thank you for your inquiry.  I am from the manufacturer.  The biggest thing to remember when choosing a slider is that the bottom corner of the appliance is as close to the actual slider itself and that you have a slider on all four corners so that the weight is evenly.  If this does not happen, the weight will not be evenly distributed and the slider will not work.  This item should work for you. How thick is one of these sliders?

Hello, and thank you for your question. The Felt is .15" thick (3.7 mm), the foam is .29" (7.3 mm) thick. Both are soft. The felt side is to be placed down on the floor for sliding on Hard floor surfaces such as Hardwoods, Linoleum, and ceramic tile.
