Problem solving toy for all types of dogs!
We adopted a 4-month-old shelter puppy a little over a week ago. Like a lot of puppies, she tends to bolt down her food. I've taught her sit, and have fed her meals by hand and made her sit patiently for each bite, but was looking for another way to feed her that fulfills the goals of both slowing down her speed at eating and engaging her mind. I read the reviews on both sizes of Kong treat dispensing toy, and was a little worried about the size. The description said that the large size was good for puppies over 25 pounds. Right now, Claire is 20 pounds, but she is quickly growing. I figured it made more sense to go with the size she would grow into and ordered the large size. I agree with other reviewers, that despite the measurements given in the product description, this seems much bigger in person! However, with less than a day of practice, she is doing awesome with it! She seemed to find the size a bit daunting at first, so it was more me making it dispense her food. The second time, I worked with her on the command "touch", and this has worked wonderfully! At first, I would give her the command "touch" and tap the Kong. When she touched it with her nose or paw, I pushed the Kong down to make it dispense a handful of food. When she had mastered touching it with her nose, I graduated her to touching it with her paw, making it reward her each time she did it. Pretty soon, she was swiping it with her paw and making it wobble over and dispense food on her own. Because there is only the one hole that dispenses food, she would have to touch it and pull it down in a certain direction to make it dispense her food. To begin with, if she made it wobble down correctly, I would manually turn it so it dispensed food for her. Now, less than 24 hours later, she is manipulating it completely on her own, and when it doesn't give her food (if the hole is on the wrong side) she simply continues to bat at it with her paw or roll it over with her nose until the food comes out. This is an awesome "toy" that keeps her actively engaged and problem solving, while dispensing her meals slowly so she doesn't get an upset tummy from bolting her food. On the durability of this toy: Some have said that it easily is destroyed by hard chewers. Our previous dog, Bandit (another shelter puppy) was a lab mix who could tear up any chew toy in no time flat, so I understand durability issues. However, this toy seems to be very well made. With that said, I only bring this toy out during meal times. So our new puppy does not have free access to it! It also seemed from the reviewers' pictures, that the damage was around the seam just under the hole that dispenses food. (Love that this unscrews for easy cleaning and easy filling, by the way!!!) When Claire first got this toy, she immediately went to the hole that dispense food. She knew immediately that the food was in there and started pawing at the hole. However, I directed her play with this, and taught her how to "play" with the toy to dispense her food. Now she no longer paws or bites at the hole because she has figured out there is a different way to make the food come out. She is a hound mix and not a lab, but I think the key to this toy with hard chewers is supervision and instruction. Don't let a hard chewer (or any dog) have free access to this toy--that is not it's purpose. Instruct your dog on how to make the food come out, and they won't try to gnaw or paw at the hole or seams. Meal time then becomes a learning game and engages their minds. I would definitely recommend this toy to anyone, with any breed of dog, but it may take a little bit of instruction on the part of the owner. If you want a toy for mindless chewing, choose another durable Kong toy. If you want a toy that challenges your dog and rewards them for thinking things through, then this is the "toy" for you!

Great product for a bored dog.
One of the best pet products I have found. This is a large kong wobbler that lets you put treats inside and gives your dog something fun to do when you are gone for the day. It has the same appearance of a smaller kong but makes your dog work for the treats. It has made of a harder plastic that makes it durable enough to withstand the attack of your furry beast. Fantastic value for the money.

Great way to occupy my greyhound!
I have a greyhound so he's pretty low energy but he loves his walks and sometimes New England weather just doesn't accommodate. I bought him this toy for Christmas and, at first, he wasn't sure what to make of it. I use the 'normal' kongs whenever we go out for a long time since he came to us with mild separation anxiety and I find that a frozen kong does wonders. I think he was confused by this new hard kong (this is made of strong plastic NOT the durable, flexible rubber of the regular kongs). After showing him how it worked, he originally seemed disinterested/confused. Then I figured out that he realised he could make me keep 'demonstrating' how to get the kibble out! Greyhounds are smarter than people think. ;) For a while, he kept half-heartedly nudging it and then giving up. Today, however, mostly stuck inside due to a blizzard, I loaded it up with kibble, a few treats, and a few slivers of cheese. He's been playing with it for a good 10 minutes, and it's clearly wearing him out a little (greys get trembly legs when they try and nose the floor, and he's using lots of brain power). He has no idea what to do when he wedges it into corners so I have to move it about a bit but this is a supervise-only sort of toy; not something you can safely leave when you're gone like a standard kong due to the hard plastic (an exuberant or very strong dog might be able to break this). Overall, I rate this very highly. For a dog with very keen intelligence, I think it could lose its appeal if used just as a treat dispenser but would be a great way to feed whole meals since it does require effort and problem solving. For breeds that are considered less intelligent (like greys), it is a GREAT, tiring distraction. My 8 year old looks exhausted as I type this! Way too much work for his little head! He obviously had a great time playing with it, and I think it will be an invaluable toy for our cold winters and hot summers. Anything that distracts him this well is very welcome since he tends to whine when bored! So far, I have found this very easy to open, close, and clean. A major plus. I am such a huge fan of Kong products now. Highly recommended!

Great slow feeder / puzzle feeder
A trainer recommended that we try puzzle feeders for our anxious rescue dog and the vet recommended a slow feeder bc she was inhaling her food. This was the first one we tried (we now have 3 different ones). This is a good one. A pretty easy 'puzzle' - if you can even call it that, but it makes the dog work for her food / gives a little mental stimulation and it definitely slows her down. It's easy to load and easy to clean. We are able to put 2 cups of food inside. I do need to watch my dog with it until she finishes her food and then take this away from her. Otherwise, she will open it up, inhale her food, and then chew on the 2 parts of the wobbler.

Excellent training tool and puzzle feeder
We have a 12 week puppy, and this puzzle feeder is excellent for training. I would highly recommend this, it keeps them busy and occupied and teaches them independence.

Best dog toy ever!
*UPDATE: 7 yrs and an additional dog (an Enlish Bull Terrier) later and these things are still going strong! Our Bull Terrier left some minor teeth marks on the toys from when he was younger and teething. But the toys have remained in tact... no dangerous parts broke off. (We've had 2 costly emergency visits to a Veterinary Hospital because my Chihuahuas quickly ate thru other flimsy toys and one ended up with his bowels impacted.) We love these things! And the brand has earned my trust. My dogs would spend hours messing with these things when they were puppies. They quickly learned how to knock the food/treats out. But we just made it harder by breaking up large, hard treats into odd shapes that were difficult to fall out. All three of our dogs are at least 7 yrs old now. They still get excited when we bust these toys out. (We had to buy a third one since they started to fight over who gets to take the next swipe.) It's still fun watching all 3 dogs nudge and swipe these toys across the room, sometime launching them at each other. It's like watching dogs playing hockey, rushing for Easter eggs, and playing roller derby all at once. (Not quite as chaotic or violent as it sounds though.) One of our Chihuahuas turned out to be a bottomless pit who devours his food in less than a minute. He chewed thru all complicated food bowls we tried. And if we make it too hard for him to get to his meals quick enough, he ends up trying to fight with the other dogs for theirs. (Despite his size, the larger dog usually backs down and lets him eat his food... which is about 4-5 times the amount the Chi should be getting.) This toy has helped sooooo much. I can feed all dogs at once and set one of these out with some kibble & an oversized treat inside. Our chunky Chihuahua has decided it's easier to finish his food and start slapping the toy around, rather than fighting with his brothers. This gives the other dogs time to eat their food in peace and at their own pace. I can leave the room and know they're all finished and ready to go outside when I hear them all flinging the one toy around. It's still hilarious to watch after all these years. (Especially since they're all older... I suppose a mix between middle aged and senior in dog years?) Oh, and the rattling noise is hardly bothersome at all anymore. The joy our dogs get out of these toys is worth so much more than a little noise. When we do take notice to the noise, it's because we're more aware of our dogs' routines or it's just a happy sound to hear. I had never really owned multiple dogs at once, so I guess the "noise" seemed way more noticeable in the past for that reason. Also, maybe because I made it too easy for kibbles to go flying about. Despite any amount of noise or teeth marks on the toys, they have never scratched up our various hard floor surfaces. JUST BUY THE KONG TREAT DISPENSING TOY. Feed your dog's need for independent play and challenges! They don't live very long. And this thing takes some of the attention off of you to keep your dog amused, and allows you to be amused by them for a while. 🩷 *Original review from 2016 is below.* I needed a solution for two teething, whining puppies who were constantly getting into trouble (humping, chewing, fighting, eating up toilet paper and knocking over the bathroom trash, etc). So I researched pet toys and discovered the Kong Wobbler. This toy is genius. Basically, you fill it with food/treats, and your dog bats it around until the food/treats fall out from a little hole in the toy. It keeps them busy and intrigued for a while, which keeps them out of trouble. PROS: Durable. Easy to clean. Easy to fill. Keeps dogs busy. Helps build concentration. Great for dogs that tend to eat too fast. Not too noisy. CONS Some rattling noises caused by food swirling around, and the additional noise of the toy skidding across my hard floor. But it definitely beats the annoying noise of a squeaky toy. *I want to add that the toy is a little big for my 4 month Chihuahua puppies. One puppy is slightly intimidated by the toy, likely because of its size, but he's been staring at it and circling it non-stop since he saw the other puppy using another one. I think he'll grow into it in a few more weeks though. I bought two of the Wobblers. I've only had them out for half an hr, but my puppies have not left them alone. It took about 10 min for one of the puppies to figure out how to use it. Because he's so small, he has to really pounce on it to get it to wobble good enough to spill out some treats.

Saved my
My dog is reactive towards his food and a feeding routine was challenging at first. With other treat dispensers, it would be too easy for him or I would have to add fillers. The wobbler has saved our routine! He isn’t reactive over it, plays with it every morning for over 30 minutes and he has learned to be less reactive due to the movement of the toy. I’ve tried to substitute with others and have always come back to this! Not noisy, totally worth the money, easy in the dishwasher. My ONLY downside would be I occasionally have to buy new ones as it is not chew resistant.

Maybe the Large one?
Like many, I bought this to extend my dog's feeding time, which is less than 30 seconds out of his bowl. I started with the PetSafe/Premier Busy Buddy line (Squirrel Dude, et al), which he loves. So do I, but I don't love filling them through their little holes. So I decided to try this, because it's quick and easy to fill (and clean). He learned how to get food out of all of the Squirrel Dude almost instantly, so the Kong Wobbler presented little challenge, but it does entertain him. He really enjoys getting his food from these toys, and becomes very excited when he sees them. Unfortunately, while the Wobbler doesn't take me long to fill, it doesn't take him long to empty either. The hole is too large for the high end kibbles I feed, which come only in a single, smallish size. The various Busy Buddy toys take him longer to finish, and he enjoys playing with them more, even when empty. He ignores the Wobbler when there is no food in it. Since Kong says the "Large" Wobbler is for dogs over 25 lbs., the "Small" seemed appropriate for my 22 lb. Jack Russell Terrier mix. (For those used to regular Kongs, it seems anything but "small" when you see it.) That may have been a bad choice. It is too light to stay in place, so he rolls it all over the room. But it is too big for him to get enough of a grip to readily extract it from the tight spots he manages to shove it into. (I had no idea how many of these there were!) He generally can find a way, but often with some collateral damage, so I usually feel compelled to intervene. Maybe the "Large" would wobble more, roll less, and not find its way into so many crannies. I'm not sure I want to spend more money to find out. Like other reviewers, I wish "Kong rubber" were used to make these. They are noisy and can damage things they bang into. They'd withstand determined chewers better, too. All in all, though, this is a decent feeding/treat toy in the right circumstances, and will suit many buyers. It just wasn't the best option for me and my dog. UPDATE, 4/16/14: As it turned out, it didn't take long for my dog to learn to avoid pushing the Wobbler into tight places, so that objection no longer applies. He still empties it too quickly, but other than that it has proved to be an okay addition to my arsenal of food dispensing toys. I have eight or nine others, and this would probably be my least favorite, but it has been useful as a change of pace, which my dog seems to like.

Indispensable for Labrador Retrievers!
Great kibble dispensing toy that slows down a puppy who eats too fast. It makes her work for her food. Keeps her physically active and mentally stimulated. Good quality. Puppy learns how to roll it immediately. Very easy to load up with kibble and to wash afterwards. Washes well in top rack of dishwasher too. Small size is perfect for a Labrador Retriever puppy. Purchased large size for her adult years. I used a large one for my first Labrador Retriever after my veterinarian recommended it. My dog ate all of her meals from it. It was still in good shape after years of use but I passed it on to another dog owner. Very happy with my purchase. Definitely recommend!

Kesinlikle tavsiye etmiyorum.
