An excellent book that acknowledges and takes inspiration from famous video games, the great Mass Effect saga first among these. The book was delivered in a perfect state.

SF to immerse into
The first book I got from the author. One of the best writers of alien species and cultures I've read so far (figures, given his background). What I respect about Tchaikovsky is that he does not spoon-feed the reader even using fundamental concepts that started with the great SF masters. There are a ton of high-concept ideas from psychology to philosophy, intricate technology, and moments of real hard science here as well. You have to work to ‘get it’ and always keeps you wondering a little. But once you have a basic grasp of the intricacies of the narrative set-up, you are in for a wild ride that consistently surprises and amazes.

Shards of earth was boring.
For me Shards of earth was a bit boring. I thought it might be like the front line series by Marko Kloos with lots of action and suspense. Shards of earth spent to much time describing different characters witch made me skip pages.I will give the next book in the series a go to see if it ramps up.
