HQRP Replacement Battery Compatible with Microsoft 1st Generation Zune MP3 Player

UPDATE: July 25, 2026. I let the seller know, and they immediately sent another new battery! I commend them on standing behind their product! Hope this one lasts... UPDATE: July 18, 2026. The warranty replacement battery has now failed after 5 months (same time period as the 1st one). Won't hold a charge. As before, we never run it on battery alone, it is always plugged in. So as much as I appreciate their warranty replacement, it doesn't do much good now. UPDATE: In response to my warranty claim the seller immediately sent a new battery with no hassles. This battery has been fine now for 3 months. UPDATE: After 5 months it won't hold a charge even briefly. Note, we never run it on battery alone, it's always plugged in. So it was not being drained and charged at all during this time. ZUNE will still work, but after it's turned off, even briefly, we have to wait a long time before the "charge" icon goes away and it can be used. From past experience, it won't be long before ZUNE will be unusable again. Since this is within the 200 day warranty I just now filed a claim (21feb2026). With out this battery my zune would no longer be usable i bought one the year they came out my only complaint is the the power cable is not quite long enough but this was easily solved buy cutting about some of the shrink wrap where the cable comes out i had no other problems installing the battery the tools for prying the case apart worked perfectly and the case snapped back to gather perfectly the battry hold its charge and has a slightly higher capacity then then one mine zune came with i bought and installed it about a year ago and no problems since i will defiantly buy another one when this battery dies

This product saved my Zune, so I can't really complain for the price. The only drawback is that the charge doesn't last very long. Installation is pretty easy. It takes a jeweler's screwdriver set to install, but it's really just a matter of plugging in the battery and putting it back together. It also comes with a nice screen protector. I really like it.

Zune stopped holding a charge and eventually wouldn't even turn on, not even in a dock. This took care of it. Easy replacement. Although, the little pry tools it comes with are super cheap (one of them instantly broke the moment I tried to pry). Try just sliding it along the seam first, instead of prying the tool perpendicular to the seam. Once there was a little gap it worked better turning the tool to pop the case, rather than prying. I actually got this and replaced the battery for my sister's Zune. She hasn't said anything about it since, so that means it is working and there are no issues with it.

Because of the strange bend in the connecting ribbon, the ribbon barely makes it to the connector, just a couple mm's more would have been better, or get rid of the bends like the original cable. But it works and it's super easy to install in a Zune 1. REVISED. Because of the poor quality of the connector, it will break where it bends to fit into the clip. Don't buy.

Well the battery works, but the ribbon isn't right. Not long enoughand or Not the right shape and or just made wrong because the ribbon will not sit correctly to close the back on and close.

Works perfectly. Tip - when installing, attach cable first, then tuck battery back in.

This revived my old ZUNE which was failing to hold a charge long enough to watch Hogan get over on Klink one more time late at night when sleep alludes me and Hogan's antics call.

The product is useless. This doesn’t even power my Zune 30gb. Moreover the cable to attach is designed in such a way that it’s difficult to connect to the port. All I can say is that don’t waste your money on this.
