These work great and save a bunch of time not having to tape off a fingerboard.

Great for cleaning guitar fretboard and not scratching the fretboard

Work as intended but have sharp burrs on the fretboard side which need to be sanded off before use.

These do a good job of protecting the fretboard while I was cleaning the frets with steel wool. Only minor issue is the rubber bands provided are poor quality and easily break. These are a good item to have if you do any work on your guitars.

If you do not tape off the fingerboard these guards will rip up the fingerboard. The edges are way too sharp. I will probably de-burr them which is a waste of my limited time and therefore does not save me money over better brands. If you are just starting out, maybe these are okay but tape the board off for sure.

Very simple but that's the job

This a a very good product and all you need to do is spend 10 minutes to deburr them. They are punched steel so, yes, the bottom cut-out and sides are rough. This is to be expected of any punched steel that was not tumbled. For the price, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect the end user to do a bit of clean-up. If you are a pro, I don't think any new tool in the shop isn't examined before use. If you are a casual user I would suggest getting in that habit. Again, if you have a sheet of sandpaper, spend 10 minutes (if you have a Dremel as well, it will go even quicker). As to performance, they lay flat and work as expected!
