The TRE51 Hard-sided Gig Bag is specifically designed to hold chimes (sometimes called bar chimes, wind chimes or chime trees). It can be used with any brand chime up to 25 1/2 inches in length. This rugged case is zippered on three sides with an oversized heavy-duty zipper for easy access. The dense foam padding and rigid plastic internal side walls, combined with an abrasion resistant outer fabric, give the ultimate in protection for your chimes, both in puncture protection (rigid plastic walls) and drop protection (dense foam padding). The internal straps hold the instrument in place while traveling and keep the chime bars from getting tangled--a real time saver when you are setting up for a show. Review: Excellent case - I originally was not super happy with the cost of this bag and looked for alternatives. There is a sleeve available, but its only slightly less money than this case! I decided it was worth a nice case so I bought it. I am so glad I did. The chimes come delivered in a tube and they aren't hard, but not super easy to remove. The sleeve was very similar (in fact I was in music school where they owned the sleeve for a long set, and the sleeve was so annoying to use, we dedicated a stand to always have the chimes on them so we wouldn't have to wrestle the sleeve during setups). This case allows you to law your chimes flat (I even have the ones with the triangle and finger cymbal and they fit gorgeously inside the case) and strap the bar securely. This prevents the chimes from getting pulled or tangles, and when you close up the case, the sides are very stiff and the material itself it very tough and sturdy. The handle is also very nice and makes transport simple. At the end of the day, I wish this case were a little cheaper, BUT, chimes are delicate, hard to move and hard to shove into a sleeve (quickly, if you've got all day to set up I guess it doesn't matter but I don't have that time), and this case makes it all extremely simple. Any non percussionist will be able to figure how the case works and be able to keep your chimes in good working order. Save your time, save your chimes, get a good case.

I originally was not super happy with the cost of this bag and looked for alternatives. There is a sleeve available, but its only slightly less money than this case! I decided it was worth a nice case so I bought it. I am so glad I did. The chimes come delivered in a tube and they aren't hard, but not super easy to remove. The sleeve was very similar (in fact I was in music school where they owned the sleeve for a long set, and the sleeve was so annoying to use, we dedicated a stand to always have the chimes on them so we wouldn't have to wrestle the sleeve during setups). This case allows you to law your chimes flat (I even have the ones with the triangle and finger cymbal and they fit gorgeously inside the case) and strap the bar securely. This prevents the chimes from getting pulled or tangles, and when you close up the case, the sides are very stiff and the material itself it very tough and sturdy. The handle is also very nice and makes transport simple. At the end of the day, I wish this case were a little cheaper, BUT, chimes are delicate, hard to move and hard to shove into a sleeve (quickly, if you've got all day to set up I guess it doesn't matter but I don't have that time), and this case makes it all extremely simple.
