Size is almost too much for my oven (with the handles). It is heavy and definitely sturdy. Lodge products are worth what I paid. Yes, I know the pan says not meant for stovetop use, but it worked beautifully on it. I would think so. Cast iron is awesome like that **Q: Can this be used on a cooking range/direct heat?** A: Yes it can. I like to start a dish on the stove top then put in the oven to finish. You can also use on a grill. **Q: How thick is it?** A: It’s roughly about 5/16 of an inch thick. It’s very durable and we love it. We have the former style Lodge pizza stone as well, we love both. They both provide us with performance that we have come to expect from all of our Lodge products! **Q: Will this work for crepes?** A: No, this will not work for crepes. Technically, you can make a crepe on it, but... a crepe requires a lighter pan, preferably teflon, and ability to flick it to toss crepe and reverse. Too heavy for that, handles all wrong, and no lip. Crepe requires a rolling motion to coat the pan, and a lip to keep batter from spilling - cannot do that here. We make pizza every week, and these are holding up well! They help crisp the bottoms of the pizza without making the bottoms too hard. The pans are heavy, but still manageable to get in and out of the oven. Love that we don't have to worry about any chemicals and can cut the pizzas right on the cast iron pans. After cleaning the pans, we wipe them dry and have not had any issues with rust.
