**Q: Are there any other ingredients in this besides diastatic malted barley powder?**
A: There are no other ingredients in this however, all Scratch products are packaged in facilities that process wheat, milk, eggs, tree nuts, and soy products.

**Q: Does this make very dense bread rise, or does it assume yeast is separately present?**
A: Diastatic malt powder feeds the yeast.  I do not make very dense breads...rye is probably the densest that I have made.  I use this when I make baguettes and they come out light and fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside.  You might want to get a smaller amount to try with the types of bread you make to see how it goes.  I've found that baking bread is all trial and error but that's what makes it so much fun when it comes out perfectly.

**Q: Can I make barley malt syrup from dry malt powder?**
A: From what I've researched, barely malt syrup is made straight from sprouting barely so I don't think dry malt powder can make it. However, the two can be substituted for each other in some recipes. Hope this helps!

**Q: Definitely no wheat in this?**
A: Hi, thank you for your question! While there is no wheat in the ingredient list, all Scratch products are packaged in facilities that also process wheat products.
