Kveik is a Norwegian word meaning yeast. In the Norwegian farmhouse tradition, kveik was preserved by drying and passed from generation to generation. Kveik is the original, traditional dried yeast! The LalBrew Voss strain was obtained from Sigmund Gjernes (Voss, Norway), who has maintained this culture using traditional methods since the 1980s and generously shared it with the wider brewing community. LalBrew Voss supports a wide range of fermentation temperatures between 25-40°C (77-104°F) with a very high optimal range of 35-40°C (95-104°F). Very fast fermentations are achieved within the optimal temperature range with full attenuation typically achieved within 2-3 days. The flavor profile is consistent across the entire temperature range: neutral with subtle fruity notes of orange and citrus. Flocculation is very high producing clear beers without filtration or use of process aids. Love this yeast!
This yeast is unbelievable. So aggressive! And it makes a great tasting beer. I've used them mostly in IPAs but just used one in a stout that came out great. If you need a really fast ferment for some reason, or maybe you need something with more temperature tolerance - this is the yeast for you.

This yeast is actually insane. I’m talking you pitch it dry onto your wort and see fermentation start before you’re done cleaning up after your brew day. I’m talking having to do your biotransformation dry hop 12 hours after pitch for fear you’ll miss high krauzen. I’m talking hitting FG in two days. All those perks aside, this is actually my favorite strain for NEIPAs. Being able to have a hazy go from grain to glass in 5-6 days is ridiculous, and it throws off a super pleasant orange smell that compliments hazies perfectly. Just make sure to keep this yeast as hot as you can get it to really get all these benefits - mid 90s is ideal. Definitely give this a shot, you won’t regret it!

Volcano Yeast makes everything erupt!
Wish I would have had blow off tubes for this yeast....I didn't know that this yeast would turn my fermenters into Mount Vesuvius! I guess I should have been on the side of caution because my wort had extra fermentable sugars in it and my basement is a bit warmer than usual.... I have heard about Kveik being a beast at chewing wort but I thought it was all hype....I was wrong. Very very wrong. Can't wait to try my beer though! I made an unconventional brown ale with this.

Kviek in general loves heat. This is a great deal on the Voss type.
It's a great deal. I ferment in the desert summer temps of 100f+ and both Lutra and Voss Kveik thrive in those temps. Lutra ferments clean no matter the temp, Voss however imparts a slight citrus taste when fermenting in the 100's. I have no temp control. I've pitched this Voss at 125f and it lived and thrived. This is a great deal no matter what temp one ferments at.
