With the right shave soap of course. With this last 4 years I have maybe had a few hairs fall out, but that itself is saying something. I leave this brush in very hot water while I prepare for a shave and the fact that the hairs are still intact after 4 years makes this a great brush! It's pretty soft but then again I don't have anything else to compare it too besides a boars hair brush. I have not had that issue and I shave four to five times a week. I follow a good routine and let the brush soak in warm water prior to use. If you research wet shaving and how to take care of your products I don't believe this brush will give you any issues. In my opinion this is a great starter brush or good introduction to badger hair brushes to see the difference. I would buy this again and have no complaints. I was happy enough with this Henry Cavendish product I decided to buy one of their soaps to try.
