It is well made, solid construction. I got it to use as a day pack while traveling because it’s made well and isn’t too big or too small. It’s not as heavy duty as the original canvas material (it’s a bit softer), but I believe it will still be water resistant enough for my use. I splash it with some water and it beaded and ran off. I also rubbed it into the fabric and couldn’t feel it on the other side. I’m sure it’s not completely waterproof, but as long as you don’t dunk it in water or let it get excessively wet you’ll be fine. I can fit a TON into it and it still feels super light. My only complaint is that the water bottle pockets are super small. I was hoping to fit a Swell bottle in them, but it’s just too big. A regular plastic bottle would fit fine thought. Unfortunate because a big selling point on this for me was that it’s made of recycled materials. As for the backpack itself, it's everything I hoped for and more. Much more spacious than it looks, extremely durable, and overall, just very cute. :) The only problem with this is that if you get dust or dirt or whatever on this bag, it will show very easily.
