I'm an intermediate piano player (dad) and my 11 year old daughter is a year into her piano lessons. She expressed interest in playing some duets, so I got this book hoping we could find something we liked. Two songs in, I'm very impressed. The arrangements aren't terribly difficult, but they sound really good when played. We started with "Chopsticks" (very easy), and have almost mastered "Heart and Soul". Check out the You Tube videos of the duet and you'll see how fun it is (especially compared to the droning version in the key of C that every child knows!). Plan on putting in some time separately and together in order to master the songs, but it's well worth it. And it can give great motivation to younger players to practice.

Loved it! I bought this for my mom who is in an assisted living facility. She and another woman play the duets quite often . They get a lot of enjoyment from their new friendship and shared enjoyment of the piano. Good selection of songs!

I ordered this book since I couldn't remember the chords to some of the well-known songs from my childhood that I played with my mom, my cousins, at recitals, etc. There is a nice selection, albeit it rather short, in this book, and most of the melodies are included. The arrangements are as described and at a basic enough level for me to follow after years of not playing the piano at all. My rating is a four since for me, the basic melodies are sometimes limited to only four or five measures at a time and other ways of playing the songs are added. This may just be a personal preference in terms of what I was looking for; other people might find that a benefit.

I bought this book for the upbeat YMCA duet. I am only a recreational piano player but with some practise, my son (having formal piano lessons) and I had fun playing the duet. We still yet to try other duets but the first few tries of the Rainbow Connection sound promising as well

Hard!

Any person thinking of buying this book should be aware that it is quite simple. I expected it would be more intermediate than it is. I would call it a late beginner.

My piano partner and I love the book. The pieces are short and cleverly arranged and can be put together quickly. This is the perfect combination!!

The example given as to the level of the music was incorrect. The music is much harder. I purchased two books for my students and these songs are above their level. They are working in Alfred's 1B and I would put this at more of a level 2 or 3. The selection of songs are wonderful. I liked that the bass and the treble hands are equal in skill. I will save them for the future.
