LEPOWER Led Clip on Light, 5W Reading Lights for Books in Bed with Gooseneck, Adjustable Color Temperature Clip Lamp, Ideal for Bedtime Reading and Piano Light, Metal, White

This clip-on light helped with a problem which was increasing visibility of a small calculator display which I use for chemistry exams, homeworks, etc. The LCD display is sensitive to light angle, if not correct, it is hard to read. It seems to need a diffuse overhead light preferably - my desk has lighting coming in from low angles, making the calculator display darkened. This clip-on light does a good job of lighting the work area in front of me including the calculator. The long light bar keeps the light diffuse to prevent hot-spot glare off the calculator. However, it is not an ideal solution for me. This light is bright enough if you clip it on the desk and position the light about a foot over your work, so it is below your vision in front of you, blocking some of the work surface. I'm okay with it for my use, it is just out of the way to not block the keyboard or my worksheets, but it is right there in front of me. I would prefer to, say, clip it on my monitor or some higher place to get it above head level. However, it frankly is not bright enough for that. Your surface would be marginally lit enough with just the light alone at a high level. Another thing is that the light bar actually gets quite warm and gives off a fair amount of heat, even though I measured the wattage at the power module as 7.5 watts. Fine on cold days, but my office gets very warm in the summer and the heat is noticeable from this lamp. Again, if it were bright enough and had a long enough neck to position it above your head the heat would rise and probably not be noticeable. Another con is that there is no swivel action of the light bar on the neck, you have to basically twist the whole neck if you need to angle the light, which doesn't feel safe. The pros are the fairly even lighting and the extra lighting modes, including a dim setting and a warm color setting, and the general lightness making it easier to move from place to place and squeeze into tight spaces. The control switch is on the cord, about a foot down from the clip, so you need to position that accordingly. There is a power module that plugs into the wall outlet thin enough to not block adjacent outlets on a power strip but might block a lower outlet on a square outlet extender. The cord is about 5 feet long, okay but not super generous. Overall it solves my problem and is fairly reasonably priced, so I give it 5 stars. I will say that I built a small LED light with 4 LEDs that is about as bright and lower power and almost no heat, but it is not as diffuse so this bar light seems best for now. I probably would prefer a similar design to this but with double the gooseneck length, brighter light, and longer light bar.

We have 2 of these lamps. The first 1 was purchased for my teen sometime in 2020, the second lamp was for our small bonus (study) space 2/7/2021. I bought the 2nd one specifically because it was working so well for my teen at the desk in their room). Both of the lamps continue to work as described without any problems. They are sturdy, nothing has malfunctioned, shorted out, or fallen apart. The lamps we received are not top heavy and hold their grip well on the desk/shelf where they are situated, and the goose neck is not flimsy. I like the dim and high soft light, and dim and high day light options. I've used the lamp for video calls instead of a ring light, turned it onto some of my smaller houseplants in the winter, and the lamp is great for studying and reading by. I would recommend these and would purchase them all over again, even if they poop out right after I submit this review, lol. Oh, and the cord length is awesome, love the reach. I definitely recommend this item. I did not receive this item as a promotion, this is my own purchase and unbiased review.

Good quality light designed for tasks that don’t require very bright light. I’m satisfied with the brightness but if you’re looking for an ultra bright clip on lamp, you might want to search for something with a higher lumens rating, which is a measure of how much light is being emitted from the bulbs. Higher lumens (and also wattage) means brighter. Lower means dimmer On this particular light, the lumens and therefore brightness is quite low. It’s more suited for reading and possibly to illuminate a computer/desk area with soft light The clip is extremely strong and sturdy and the gooseneck is easy to adjust. The light itself is very thin and unobtrusive. Were it not for the gooseneck, you barely notice it. Switches adjust for brightness and warm/white light Overall, very nice clip on light for the price

I love this reading light. It attaches to almost any piece of furniture and it's perfect for shining light on a book. I highly recommend it.

Excellent light w/2 brightness modes. I use mine in the shower (on the door frame) Doers a great job off lighting up my shower and bath tub.

I didn't want to spend $100 on a piano light, especially since most look too big and obtrusive for my small digital instrument. Why are they so expensive anyway? This clip light is solidly made and fits the bill nicely. It clips onto the piano's built-in music stand and looks like an integral part of the whole setup. While the different brightness and color settings are nice options, I find I only use the brighter warm color setting, but I appreciate knowing that I have the other options should this clip light ever get repurposed in some other setup.

I wanted to wait to review this item. And I've had it as while now. I have to say it's great. The light has a few settings. And when you adjust it to where it's needed it stays there! The clip to attachment is a great size and fits a good thick table. This is the 3rd time I have had to order this style of light as all the other ones move or droop and I ended up spending more time adjustinf the light then embroidering. This is the only one that stays where it's needed!
