Finally had to change the first one after a very long time, and even then it was my fault, not the bulb, accidental damage. The bulbs work well, do not over heat and give just the right light level for the lamp to look at its best. Highly recommend these.

Brilliant bulbs for our Mathmos lava lamp. We used another brand of bulb initially and it didn’t heat the wax. These lamps heated the wax really quickly.

Great item,fast delivery

Bought these to replace 20+ year old bulb. It fits and works. First thing I noticed, I get a lot more smaller bubbles of lava in the first 30 mins than ever before. That's kind cool. BUT After about 3 hours or so, the lava gets to one big blob at the bottom and isn't getting heat enough to break free. So I end up with a slow dancing big blob at the bottom. The only way to sort it is to turn the lamp off, let the lava cool, then it's good to start again. Never had this with the old bulb. I think it must have heat it just a tiny bit more so that the heated lava could break through the surface tension. Giving 3 stars, as it works for short times, but I wouldn't buy again.
