I mean, the walnut looks pretty cheap up close, but otherwise the white shell top looks/feels solid.Note #1: The chair has a seat height of 17.25" (If you measure from the sides, it slopes from 17.25" at the front, and 18" in the back. However, while the back of the seat appears to be .75" taller, it contours inwards so you're really still at 17.25".If you research dining chairs, the optimal height is 18"-19" for a 30" height table. This chair is about 1" shorter than the typical height. But, this is not a defect or mishap. 17.25" is the exact height of the authentic chair—visit hermanmiller.com and you will see the exact same specifications.To correct this, I bought 1" felt pads here on Amazon for $7.Note #2: There are MANY listings for this chair on Amazon (individual chairs, two-packs, 4-packs). Whatever set you buy, you will find they all somehow differ in price, even though they come from the same company: Poly and Bark. Even the prices on Amazon differ from their prices listed on their own website. They get moderate use. Neither of us are heavy people. My husband is 175lb and I weigh 130ish. My husband was eating lunch and the leg just snapped clean off the chair... No warning.The hardware also comes loose easily, so once a month, I tighten everything and check to make sure it's stable. Not sure how I missed the signs of stress.Either way, I'm super disappointed. A simple chair like this is hard to screw up, but the manufacturer cut many corners, including making the legs out of pressed wood. Buy these because they look cute and are reasonably comfortable, but never expect them to last more than a couple of years. :-/ ### ⭐⭐⭐ Decent set for the price. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2017* These are very decent chairs. Pretty much what I expected for the price. I got them in the darker wood, which frankly look a little cheap in my opinion. There is no wood grain, they simply look painted. The chairs themselves are quite comfortable. As other reviewers have pointed out, they do sit approximately an inch lower than a typical dining room chair, but to my knowledge, these are pretty true to the actual Eames fiberglass versions and it's not really an issue for me. The chair backs have some flex which adds to the comfort. The bottom of the wooden legs have white plastic feet/caps screwed in. I'd advise you to look into getting felt circles so you don't scratch up your floors. The size of the chairs is quite good, I'm 5'11 and 160lbs, and they're perfect.
