Since I'm usually the "fire chief" at her house, I bought the correct tools to use. Let's face it, if a burning log slips off the grate, or a large chunk of ember falls away, you need these things to correct the situation. I have a wood burning stove at the cabin and I'm quite sure I would not be able to keep the place warm without having them to turn logs, resituate coals and embers and poke the primer back toward the back of the stove to enhance the draught.
