I’ve tried multiple different brands over the years, and this Stanley food jar is by far my favorite. The key is to follow the instructions and pour hot water inside for a few minutes before adding the food — once you do that, it works amazingly well. My preteen uses it for school, and she says her food stays hot all the way until lunchtime. The quality is excellent, and the color is beautiful in person. She loves carrying it, and the built-in spork on the side is such a convenient bonus. It’s sturdy, reliable, and definitely worth the price. This is the only food jar we’ll be buying from now on!

Fantastic food jar that actually keeps stuff hot. We've gone through other thermos-like food jars for my kids, hoping they'd keep their food hot until lunch time, only to be disappointed every single time. I thought this was maybe a bit over-priced (it's probably true lol) because of Stanley's recent explosion in popularity with their moronic gigantic cups, but they sure know how to make a thermos. Yes, pre-heat the thermos with boiling or near-boiling water for a few minutes, and then put your hot food into it. We have used this for: soup; ravioli, macaroni and cheese, shredded bbq chicken, etc. Every time I ask my kids if the food was hot, and I will even get the report that the food was TOO hot to eat come lunchtime (usually associated with soup). Only negative - the spork that comes with it. Even in the photo, you can tell - maybe this spoon is a wee bit short... If you're using it for soup you need a larger spoon, period. For the other items I've mentioned, my kids make do with the little spork. But it's obvious that if you're getting all the food at the bottom, you're really "getting in there" with the spork and your hand. We hand wash our stuff to prolong its life. The info that comes with it says you can technically run it through the dishwasher but it might reduce it's life / finish. Thus, hand washing it is for us, but YMMV.

Top quality, and the 'spork' holder is great. Thermally, these definitely have better heat retention.

My husband is a police officer-this keeps whatever he takes at the proper temp for those long shifts. Hvg the spoon attached is very convenient.

They don’t hold a full can of soup. They do not keep it as hot as our other Stanley from a few years ago. They are fine for school lunches but when we take them to the mountains for skiing and leave them for several hours it does not work as well as some other models.

Keeps food warm.

I bought this for my daughter to take her lunch to school in. The first day, I put hot food straight into it, but by lunchtime (about 4-5 hours later), she said it was barely warm. The next day, I tried a different method: I poured in boiling water, closed the lid, let it sit for about 5 minutes, then dumped the water and added her food. She said it was still hot at lunchtime! I've done this every day since, and no more complaints about cold food. So just make sure to preheat it first. It makes all the difference. Highly recommend once you get the prep routine down! Great Quality. Size is Perfect. Color looks great. It's a bit heavier than other thermos but not by much. Definitely worth the price. Recommend. 5 STARS

Got for my husband who goes off early mornings. He says that the contents stay hot until he wants. Just the right size for breakfast. Leakproof. I like it because it can go in the dishwasher.

This is a very handy thermos. We’ve had it for over a year and it’s holding up great. I think keeps everything very cold or very hot. I would strongly recommend it!

I am impressed - really does the job.. made a hot cup of coffee at 10:30pm and at 4/4:30am it’s still hot. A keeper!
