Great image quality and easy to use
I had a radiant floor leak somewhere and needed to track it down. It did a fantastic job easily locating the under the floor leak within less then a foot. This made the repair job much easier with less destruction of the floor area. It easily paid for itself the first time out. I then used it again in the winter and found a bunch of area's were heat was escaping from my house, some new gaskets and insulation bingo, now i'm saving on my energy bill! Great product! Its not cheap but beat the heck out of hand held temperature guns and other devices.

Love it
This is by far the best hand held thermal image I have used for under $400. Flir has always been top notch in my opinion. Stop wasting your money on those non brand name knock offs.

Pictures does not overlap. Not calibrated from factory.
The camera picture and thermal image do not overlap. so if you are looking at a glass of water. you can see two glasses. Yes! a double image which confuses me. This seems a software calibration problem. 3D imaging cameras that use multiple cameras have a way of solving this through their software by combing the images into one. Unfortunately, FLIR thermal camera images do not do this. Another caveat is that you have to pay $199 subscription to use their software to manipulate images. The free version is pretty useless. *Update: I had to call the manufacturer to figure out the horizontal ghost image. You can correct this using the image adjustment option in the menu. Access image adjustment, access MSX menu and then press the center button again until it shows MSX ON at the top with up down arrow. If you press the up down arrow (rubber keys) at this point, the image will adjust horizontally. Once it's aligned to your satisfaction for the normal distance you will use it for, press the center button again. And that is it! If your image is ghosting vertically, the unit is faulty according to the manufacturer. One star down for not including a detailed manual. You can access the manual online perhaps.

Works for a casual user
I'm no expert on using and interpreting the thermal images. Not even close. This unit did a good job of tracking down cold spots and indicating warm spots. For example, I had my electric throw on and sitting on the sofa, and it showed the framework of the wiring and that the wires were all working. It's easy to find hot and cold water pipes behind walls. Active electric wires too. A water leak would probably show up as a cold spot behind the wall or above the ceiling. I could see the cold attic joists through the ceiling. We had some work done but hadn't yet replaced the insulation, and you could see it through the drywall. That was pretty impressive to me. The downside is that it added to my list of things to do. I imagine if you had mice or chipmunks or worse, it would pick those up too. I don't think I'd want to go looking for them, however. :-) I picked up a possum outside on a cold night. We know the possum is around, but we didn't know where or if it was close, and it wasn't far away. We just leave it be, but it's cool to be able to "see" critters in the dark. Again, not an expert. I just wanted to find sources of cold air intrusion in the winter and this pointed me in the right direction. I was able to remediate some of the problems and make it more comfortable. It charged up quickly and it was easy to read the images. Get the initial reading of a spot, then let it focus on that spot for a minute to see what, if anything, changes. I used it for a while and didn't need to recharge the battery. I had no problems with the images stuttering or loading slowly. I didn't take too many permanent images and try to save them. It seems to do the job, it's uncomplicated, but I'm also not the person who will be using it hard. It did what it promised to do for this amateur.

Middling quality, but practically UNUSABLE in practice. Get a smartphone accessory model.
UPDATED 05/17/2023 I've used this for a year now and can safely/confidently talk about the pros/cons. Pros: Build quality is good with the exception of every button vital to it's use.... battery life seems more than adequate, the resolution is "good enough". Cons: Startup time is hilariously long. The CORE BUTTONS that operate this thing are mushy and don't work well. When you press and hold the middle button to power cycle the device, sometimes it just registers as holding the upper or lower button, which offsets the thermal vs visual image..... Refresh rate is abysmal. The fact that you cannot turn off the combined visual/IR view makes this almost unusable. In fact, it's kinda mind blowing that they can sell it as-is. It's also a pain in the rear to offload images from the device. Speaking of, you CANNOT TAKE VIDEO with this device.... Constantly needs recalibrating as the IR image doesn't match the visual image, and shows a double-image where the heat data is offset from visuals. Cannot use in the dark as the main camera doesn't work and you can't use "IR - only". I got this at a discount where it was almost the same price as one of the smartphone attachment models. I STRONGLY suggest you pass on this device and go with one of the smartphone models. There are more features, presumably actual firmware updates, and more. It's the same resolution as many of those models and they're cheaper. I hardcore regret this purchase. Go with the Klein thermal imager or Seek or even FLIR's own mobile device before you ever touch this piece of junk.

Works well
The camera was able to show me all the areas around my house that needed attention. It was actually pretty shocking to see all the areas of my home in the middle of the winter that were not sealed very well. You can see all of the studying headers and you can also see extreme Temperature variations around receptacles and light switches, but I live in an old home. i’d buy this again.

Manejabilidad
Detecta perfectamente el calor y las conducciones de calefacción. Es para lo que la he usado. Muy bien con el laser que lleva pa la ubicación. No le doy el cinco porque todavía no la he usado un tiempo prolongado
