A Great Phone for Seniors, this being my 3rd Panasonic, an easy set up for me. Great Value -Great Features-
Great so far, everything seems to work, have not used all 4 headsets yet. But all lit up and rang. Easiest of Panasonic Phones set up ever, almost took me as long to remove stuff from box, in order to preserve cardboard packing frame, in case of return. But in all seriousness within 15, 20 minutes I was entering numbers in phone list. As a Senior Citizen ? , I like the large bright display and that everything is in large print. The phone is laid out well and fits hand nicely, I have had a number of Panasonic phones all have been durable and delivered a long service life. But this one is something I' m excited about, the features are many and they so far are easy to locate on menu and set up. Not in my time of set up, I installed the phone list from my old set of Panasonics, and switched over a few call block #'s, set initial ring settings and got the phone up and operating. I did not set up Cell Phone as I am considering switching phones or get into some other features I may or may not use. This is a nice system without even counting the bonus feature of merging your Bluetooth Cell into the system Good value they last Panasonic a 3 Handset lasted about 8 years. As I am not making as many calls I expect this to last a lifetime. So for now 5 Stars, I don't usually give this rating on initial set up, but knowing Panasonic Phones and Amazon, THIS IS MY BUY OF YEAR. As always if something changes I will edit this. Note, when you see negative reviews on Panasonic systems and Amazon consider this that Amazon has many sellers and many people handling returns and so on . I have been an Amazon customer for over a decade, I have bitten the bullet on a few small things. But over all Amazon has been reliable as the best of USA retailers. I am a Senior on a tight budget, I don't have time for people who don't back up what they sell. If this review helpful please say so, I do not take free or discounted product's for my review's. I am a Panasonic Brand customer on things I use every day, my TV's, phones and blood pressure machine. The phones, one of the TV's and blood pressure machine all purchased from Amazon

Fantastic phones from a very reliable manufacturer.
I purchased this new KX-TGE475S cordless phone kit to replace a 12 year old Panasonic KX-TG5634 kit that finally died (It would lose signal with the base frequently). I'm from Canada and after carefully looking at all the offerings from Panasonic Canada, I've come to the conclusion that our Canadian selection is pitiful and overpriced. This KX-TGE47 series from Panasonic USA comes in with more features at a lower price point than anything comparable in Canada. For instance, features like Link2Cell, Bluetooth (Phonebook Transfer, Headset), Power Back-Up Operation, Baby Monitor, and a whopping 5 handsets are all included with the American TGE47 series but missing from the similarly priced Canadian KX-TGD394 model. This TGE47 kit arrives in a very small box but when you unpack everything, you'd be surprised how many pieces they managed to squeeze in there. The handsets are top notch and uses regular NiMh AAA batteries, which will make replacing the batteries a snap as they are easily sourced. Buttons are nice and big, and text is very big and clear as well. It's almost like the phone is engineered to be elder-friendly or drunk-friendly. The base is a bit lightweight comparing to the unit it replaced but overall, the fit and finish is very good. Voice calls are very clear but the volume is decent. However, in speakerphone mode, the volume does not get very loud even at max volume. I can see this being an issue in noisier environments. I'm also impressed with the improved range of 1.9GHz DECT 6.0 versus my old 5.8GHz "Gigarange" set. Feature-wise, the Call Block button is an excellent feature allowing you to block telemarketers with ease. Intercom mode is easier to use than ever, as you can name all handsets and find which handset you want to dial by name. Power Backup Operation is another feature I really like. In the event the Base unit loses power, normally your entire phone system goes dead. With this model, it actually uses the handset as a battery backup when the base loses utility power. As long as the handset is attached to the base, your other handsets will still be able to make calls even when the power goes out. Bluetooth phone book transfer is also great, and saves alot of time trying to enter each contact into the phone book. Lastly, talking Caller ID is an amazing feature. I love knowing who is calling me as I'm walking towards my phone, versus just senseless ringing. Overall, this product deserves maximum stars. It performs well, is feature laden, and it's solidly made. If my old Panasonic set can be used as any indicator of reliability, I have no doubt this one will last just as long.

Works as Advertised
I upgraded from a similar Panasonic model which lasted some ten years. As an elderly couple living in a duplex apartment, the intercom feature was important, and it was surprising how few quality cordless home phone systems have this feature. This model has a button for call blocking; when you get a robocall, just hit the button and the number calling is stored and permanently blocked (you can undo it if you've made a mistake). It can be paired with up to two cell phones, but I do not want to. All the basic features worked upon an initial and quick setup. But many features require intensive study of the manual. My only complaint is that one cannot import the phonebook from a previous Panasonic model (you can import from a cell phone if you spend an hour with the manual); Panasonic missed a feature that would promote brand loyalty. Overall, a quality system with which I am quite satisfied.

Instant "Land Line" for your house.
First of all, these look and feel just like the old cordless phones from the 1990's with the styling, back-lit buttons, and black/gray LCD display - but don't let that fool you. These are very advanced and capable phones with modern features. I connected this to an inexpensive mobile phone via Bluetooth and instantly we had a "Land Line" for our house. What is really nice is that you can connect up to 2 cell phones to this system via bluetooth. The mobile phone must be within bluetooth range of the base unit. Calls coming into the mobile phone rings the handsets. I have noticed a bit of a delay when testing... the call rings on the handset a few seconds after ringing the mobile phone. The intercom feature is really nice, you can call between handsets, or call the base from any handset. The range is sufficient to cover our entire 3200 sq-ft home, garage, front yard, and large backyard. When the phones ring, a voice will call out the caller ID, or if you have the number programmed in the phone directory, the voice will actually try to read out the name. The handsets are all linked, so if you program names/numbers in one, they magically show up in all of the other phones. The one annoying thing is that it complains about not having a wired land-line connected. Reads "check connection" on the handset. I never plan to actually connect it to a land line. The other slight annoyance is that you have to select the cell phone if you want to make a call, otherwise it defaults to attempt to dial via landline (which is not connected). We bought this system primarily for our 5 kids, ages 7 to 15. We don't want them all having access to a mobile phone and becoming zombies playing games or texting all the time, but we do want to be able to reach them via phone. The mobile phone connected via bluetooth stays locked up, but within bluetooth range of the base. If we need to revoke phone access, we simply turn off the mobile phone.

Perfect in all ways and very cost effective. A+
Outstanding phone system, lower priced than many other systems but all the functions you can possible. It may be a single line phone but that means a single land line, but once you connect your cell phones to it then it's a 3 line phone. 3 people can make an receive calls all at the same time thru the cordless hand sets, one would select the land line and the other two can select one of the cell lines. When both my wife and iI have our cell phones on their chargers and I want to find her some where else in the house, I simply use the handset select one of the 3 lines and call one of the other connected lines, all the other hand sets will ring and we can talk just like any ordinary call. The Bluetooth set up and connection is incredibly easy and works perfect. Even my wife love the thing and that's a hard thing for me to get her to like any new system. I can not think of any improvements that would make it better. A+ for sure. It even enunciates text messages across all the hand set, says "Text message ********" So when you are still in bed you know if you need to get up and read it you let it wait. Sound quality is fairly good, better then the cell phones but could be slightly better, not enough difference to bother me.

Great value, very pleased.
I'm very happy with this purchase! Easy to set up and has some great features. Probably my favorite is the ability to block calls en masse...such as all calls with a "No ID". This has drastically reduced the number of times our phone rings in the evening! You can block up to 250 individual numbers as well. The phones sound very good, have nice big numbers, are easy to use and have a nice heft to them which makes them feel good and substantial in your hand. I have one phone located in our detached garage about 100 feet or so from the base station with a couple of concrete walls between them. It seems to be at limit of reception so I might try out the range extender. We use voice mail through our phone provider so I can not comment on the answering machine function. Nor have I tried the blue tooth to link our cell phones. Even not using those features, I am very satisfied with the value. My only (minor) complaint is the rather poor selection of ring tones. They are all very "digital" and all downright annoying. I know I'm old school but how about something novel...like a ringing bell sound!

Easy cell bluetooth hookup, you do not need a landline, quality sound, loud ringers.
Bought this for my husband's Verizon iPhone 4 hook up and as a gift 3 months ago, since we gave up a landline 7 years ago. Bonus, easy bluetooth hookup if you have minimal tech skills. I've hooked it up to my iPhone 7 and each of our personal ringers ring on this phone, saving me time from answering "his" many calls :) We like as soon as we walk in the door it hooks to our phones immediately, even mine when I have the iPhone "switch" turned off - it will still ring out loud on the handsets. (That's a nice feature because I would always forget to turn it on after work.) System has great microphone and earpiece quality when on your call. It hangs nicely on our old landline box and we even have one of the handsets in our workshop about 70' from the base. We both like the "real" phone size and intercom to call to the other sets. You can sit it on your shoulder when working or use the speaker. Admittedly, its been dropped quite a few times in the shop and hasn't broke. As far as we are concerned if it does there are 3 more handsets to use and it is MUCH cheaper than fixing an insured iPhone. Our friends come over and have loved ours and bought their own as well. Ours was on sale for 89.99 at christmas but I would gladly pay a bit higher price to get this item. We would highly recommend this quality product. This is not a paid review.

Does what it promises with Cell2Phone, but not great quality build
Seems to work fine. Nothing special. some parts of the phone (e.g., bases where phones sit and the base unit) feel cheaper than previous models of Panasonic cordless phones (we've always purchased and liked previous cordless Panasonic models). Positively, on this new model the buttons on phones are larger, so easier to see them clearly. The base is not very sturdy and doesn't weigh much so tips over easily if you are pushing buttons to dial. The Cell2Phone part works, which is why I purchased this model. As an aside, it's very confusing that Panasonic has more than one model out (e.g., KX-TG787 series, KX-TGE27 series), and it was difficult to know which was the "newest" model before I purchased it. I even called Panasonic to ask and the customer service agent didn't know! Amazon is actually pushing the older model (KX-TG787) as their "preferred" which adds to the confusion. I had actually purchased a competing set of cordless phones from AT&T (CLP99586) prior to making this Panasonic purchase and those phones do the same thing with connecting to cell phones. They worked great making cell calls but I had a problem getting it to work with the home line so I was going to return it. The AT&T phones felt better in your hand and seemed slightly better quality, as did their base. The Panasonic set works fine, but I'm just not impressed. Plastic parts all seem cheaper. Sad thing is that this is not an inexpensive cordless phone set! UPDATE: I returned the AT&T (CLP99586) for a replacement which works now (obviously I had a bad base with the previous one). This is our first AT&T cordless phones (we've always used Panasonic), so I'll try to update again later on. I'm returning the Panasonic!
