Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Body Butter, Vegan, Cruelty Free Self-Tan Butter

I have very fair skin and don't usually tan but really wanted to look a little sun-kissed for an upcoming wedding. I tried this lotion once (shaved and exfoliated the night before, left it on overnight the next night) and am really impressed. I used it on my face with a foundation brush after applying my regular moisturizer too. I've only ever used Jergen's natural glow so I did make some mistakes around my wrists, knees, and ankles where the pigment got a bit dark. I would probably get a mitt in the future but for a one-time thing, it worked great. It doesn't leave a dark color on sheets or clothing and it doesn't have a bad smell but it is scented. It's actually kind of hard to tell where you applied it since it soaks in so well.

I used the isle of paradise drops for years. I love them but I feel like I’m constantly burning through the bottles, like one bottle a month. One of my clients told me to try the butter. I am obsessed with it. It leaves a little glimmer glow to your skin. It doesn’t smell during or after processing on your skin. It gives a nice buildable color. I use it very frequently and only once did I feel a little orange but it was after I used it for like 4 days in a row. My advice would be to use regular lotion on your hands feet ankles knees and even elbows so that it doesn’t grab too much and you’ll have a great tan!

This is a pretty good self tanner. I like B tan better. This one has a pretty strong smell. The B Tan has no smell at all and it’s a gel. This one is a cream. But it is not orange. You get a nice tan. It takes a little longer to dry does not stay on as long. I suggest if you get a self tanner, you buy the B Tan

Two small tubes that would probably last the summer, but does not do the job. The "tan" is never dark enough; you must apply it daily or every other day to maintain a light tan. That, plus the smell, is not enough for me to purchase again.

I have gone through about 8 bottles of this tanner before leaving my review. Would like to state that I am an experienced home tanner and I have tried almost everything. I personally like a gradual tanning product the best because you don't have to use an application device or worry about streaking and rinsing. Apply like lotion and wash hands after. I use after shower a few days in a row until I look lovely and tan then every other day for about a week then I skip like 5 days and start over. I find that it builds up nicely but eventually, in the winter months especially, it needs to come off and start all over. It doesn't stain my clothes unless they are white and I don't find the scent to be bad. I will say I gave some to my mom to try and she didn't like the smell (she is picky about tan smells). If I were to make a request to the company it would be to make a gradual tan option that is extra hydrating for the winter months.

I lost all my pigments about 30 years ago. This is the best self tanner I've ever tried. It doesn't stink (very...very faint smell) nor rub off. It does last about 1 or 2 times in the hot tub. AND it doesn't make the hot tub foam. Just don't rub when you get out...blot yourself dry. I haven't tried a pool or ocean yet...but I'm sure if it survived the hot tub it will be fine there as well. This will be my go to tanner from here on out and it isn't going to break the bank. :)

I was really hoping to like this but it wasn’t for me. The good thing about it was it felt like it moisturized well but after it dried and developed, it went on spotty, splotchy, orange, and had a strong self tan smell. It also faded quickly and unevenly so it was very noticeable.

This is by far the best tanning lotion ever. So simple to use - and it makes me feel so confident! I am a white woman (lol) and I get the Medium color and it really boosts my self esteem! I just lotion up my entire body (not face - i use the isle of paradise drops for my face), immediatley wash my hands, and then i let it soak in a bit before I put loose clothing on. The next morning I am looking FIIIIINE!

I have normally used fake tanners but it's such a faff trying to scrub the old one off, then feeling uncomfortable whilst the new one develops, this gradual tanner is an absolute game changer, I had a lovely colour after a few hours of applying, I then exfoliated gently, shaved legs etc and put another coat on, so much easier, no spotty bits from shaving, I used it every three to four times a week, using my normal moisturizer on the days I didn't use the tan, doesn't have that fake tan smell, moisturises the skin, perfect for any skin type, I have mature skin and it looks great, this is the way to go for me now, very happy with results, excellent value for money, it's a natural looking tan, highly recommend it

Product is good and give a nice colour but you have to make sure you run in well as it gets streaky very easily. Wash hands straight after use. Still smells like fake tan

I wasn’t sure at first, always used Bondi Sands foam tan but that started to look patchy with that tiger bread effect, and it gets all over the sheets! This however goes on easily, fist time I used it I didn’t prep properly and got a streaky foot, since then no issues, topped up a couple of times on holiday but it withstood swimming and showering well, it smells ok too

This is the best self tanning product I’ve ever used. It’s quite thick, and you don’t need much. I used one squirt, used both hands to distribute and apply evenly over both legs. Absorbed quickly, went to bed and woke up with a really natural tan. No nasty fake tan smell either - brilliant! The one used previously was Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk - which left a lovely even tan, but took more than one application and left the usual unpleasant smell.

This lotion is easy to use and gave a nice tan. It also lasted about a,week. I used gloves to put on. Very pleased.
