TGuard AeroThumb Wearable Dental Device for Persistent Thumb Sucking, Med

*BOUGHT FOR MY 6YO SON* I delayed buying this product for my son out of cost concerns (I needed two for both of his thumbs), and ended up going with cheaper options. Those cheap options lasted me a day before ripping, and nothing was achieved. I eventually gave in and purchase these, and I absolutely do NOT regret it! They are the only things that have helped my son stop thumb sucking. It is 10000% worth the money. We wore them exclusively for three weeks straight. Day and night. We took them off when swimming (needed to plug his nose) or when building Legos, because he needed his thumbs for that. But otherwise, we kept them on the majority of the time! He had absolutely no complaints, and it worked within two or three days. At the end of three weeks, we cut them off because of school starting. And he was no longer sucking his thumb AT ALL. He was the kind of kid who would suck his thumb all night while sleeping, and during the day when bored or needing comfort. The product comes with plenty of interchangeable, plastic bands, for when needing to take them off and switch them out. Or giving them a break. It also comes with a sticker chart for them to have goals and achieve them visually. At his age, we did not end up using the sticker chart, but we did use the plastic bands, since we switched them in and out occasionally (now we have a lot left over bc we didn’t switch it every 24 hours). I know it is expensive, especially if you are buying two… But I would highly recommend!!

T-Guard works. It is a very well designed device that prevent sucking and it is confortable and easy to use. With that said it is not perfect, sizing can be tricky and the kid and specially the extra wrist band are expensive (fortunately we found a way around that). My 4 year old was a full time thumb sucker. Before we bought the guard I measured his thumb and I got a medium according with the chart, looking back I think the small would have been more appropriate. We have been talking a lot about why he should break the habit and I even show him videos of the thumb guard ahead of time. However, I knew that this was going to be a very difficult battle and it occurred to me that Santa may be able to help. My son believe that the guard came from Santa and was delivered to him by the Elf on Thanksgiving with a letter from Santa where he promise a treat every night if he keep it on and extra gift on Christmas day!. This motivation was paramount to the success of the treatment because, with the exception of the first day when he had a hard time, my son was very willing to keep the guard on. Because the device was a little big for him I have to tied as much as possible the wrist band and even then, with enough effort, he could take it off. After 48 hours we were having some sores due to the band. Fortunately, at that point I was able to lose the band and my son never attempted to take the guard off. One of the thing I love the most is that he can do everything including watching and drying his hand with the guard. The direction said to remove the guard once a day but after a few days we decided that wasn't necessary. We change the wrist band every other day. I am glad that we did that because now I have extra bands, which is good because we are now using the guard at bed time. So far the treatment has been very successful but once in while just before he falls of sleep or when he is waking up he wants to suck. Although, there are not more prices from Santa, my son understand his big accomplishment and he doesn't want to suck any more and he is happy to put the guard at night. I am very happy we got this product, with the right motivation and this great device breaking the sucking habit was much easier that I ever expected. Worth every penny!!

I rarely write reviews and I was a bit skeptical. But IT WORKED !!! We had tried EVERYTHING to get him not to suck his thumb. He's been sucking his thumbs for 5 years.... Only a month and a half with these one, and he stopped completely !!! It was hard at first to maneuver his fingers to do his everyday task w his hands, like holding a pencil to brushing his teeth. Pro: Worked !!! They are easy to put on & take off. Very easy to clean. Not too hard and stiff on his hands. The longer he had it one the softer it got, so he could move his thumb around a bit. Con: The guards started having discoloration after 2 weeks of wearing (we did not really mind, but made it look dirty contraption on his hands. After prolong used of it, the guard becomes softer & gets a bit loose. He found a loophole and could slide his thumbs out and started sucking on them again. So we had to tighten the strap the band. The bad thing about the bands, it gave him rash like blisters and small cuts frm the edge of the band. The last day we took it off to test out if he actually stopped sucking his thumb, left him having marks where the band was, dried chafing rash like. But we put vaseline around the area and it helped. Besides the cons, it really WORKED for us. Its has not sucked his thumb not once after we took the guards off, which was only took him a month and half to kick this habit !!!

We used this for our four year old. Read the reviews and got two to deal with the not preferred thumb. He was excited, loved the stickers. We also got a reward to keep things positive. It worked. And now a few months later started sucking his index finger…. If you have a persistent kiddo this is not likely to be the end of the road. Now I’m looking at their finger product. I feel I deserve a serious coupon.

My daughter is now 5 year old. She sucks her thumb since she is 3 months old. We tried his guard when she was 2.5 yo but she refused to wear it and wouldn't let us put it on her. We ordered new one few weeks back and now she is putting it on for last 2 weeks. First week we didn't put the belt that goes around it as she was keeping it as is woth red button buckled up but in second week she is taking guard off easily so we are putting the belt that has come with the guard. Fir last 2-3 days my daughter started complaining that the belt hurts a lot and her tecaher had to take it off for her. As she is home today I could observe it myself within half an hour after wearing it and could see the belt marks on her wrist because if belt's its sharp edges. As you can see in attached pictures, we didn't tie it tight or loose. The belts and not kids safe at all and design lacks safety. I will not recommend this guard to anyone. It is also very expensive.

We are a little over a week into using this product and I'm disappointed. For the price of this device I expected better. I believe this product will be effective for many children, just not sure mine is one of them. The red plastic part, called the instalock, broke with normal use. As I was threading the bracelet through the instalock it broke, see picture. Next my 5 year old is able to free her thumb, by using her teeth to bite the top of the device and pull her thumb out the bottom. I tried every possible way to secure the bracelet so this was not possible, but to no avail. I made it was tight as it would go without cutting off her circulation but still she could free her thumb. This was on the not broken one in case you were wondering. Since the plastic device has some elasticity to it, she is able to stretch it enough for her to get her thumbs out even if it's as tight as it can go around the wrist. Another issue I have is occasionally the bracelebs just brake with normal use. So why have I given it 3 stars at all? Well despite the fact I expected more from such an expensive product, it has still significantly cut down on the thumb sucking for now, I will update this review and decrease stars if she becomes completely non compliant. Another reason for the 3 stars not less, is I can see how a child who doesn't figure out how to free their thumbs would greatly benefit from this device. I have returned the broken one for a new one, and I'm thinking of trying the smaller size to see if that helps at all. This review was sensored maybe because the company reached out and tried there best to help. They sent me a different size and still the same problems. They did offer to refund my purchase, so i guess you can try to see if it works fir your kid, however i feel my comments are still relevant since going through the hassle of getting a refund ir exchange is still something worth considering before purchasing. It isn't a cheap product.

I cannot possibly recommend this more! My daughter had a thumb sucking issue. We crushed the habit during the day but while sleeping, it's a tough habit to kick. At the recommendation of our orthodontist we purchased this. I was skeptical, but he insisted the body is very resilient and if she can simply stop the habit there is a good chance her teeth would self correct. AND HE WAS RIGHT! My daughter wore this to bed for 45 straight days. She didn't love it but mostly becuase of the stigma. She never complained of any discomfort. It fit her hand well and she could sleep WITHOUT sucking her thumb. Habit was crushed in those 45 days. We just had her 6 month follow up and ALL GREAT NEWS. No pallet expander, no more invasive thumb sucking prevention measures, and most importantly the likeliehood of braces is down signficantly. NOT saying this will work for everyone but if you know how much dental work costs this is an absolute must try if your child's teeth have been negatively impacted by thumb sucking!

Didn’t work for my girl and kind of bulky. The sour polish is better

Highly recommended. It is effective in helping my child stop sucking her thumb.

Works better than the nail polish that they get used to. But don't make my mistake - they we put it on at night time only because that was the main problem, and later discovered that the kid was being sneaky and hiding some sucking during the day. Just leave it on 24 hours every day for a month, you'll be better off than trying to be flexible with the kid

This didn't work for us - our 4yo worked out how to use his teeth to pull the guard up and then slide his thumb down and out after 2 days. Also was able to cut the band off with scissors and take the guard off. Didn't matter how tight i secured the guard. I can see how it might work for some children. Just didn't work for us.

Expensive and doesn't last long.actually a very good product. Will do the job with some patience and if your child is not old enough to take it off. My 6 year old chewed it until it broke and resumed sucking. Think will work for much younger kids who haven't figured out they could chew it
