Perfect for Parrots/Budgies!
I haven't personally cooked this before nor have I eaten it myself so I can't vouch for that, which I understand is probably the main reason people look at reviews. But I can say (hopefully this is helpful to bird owners) that this is well made product that comes vacuumed sealed for ultimate freshness and smells fresh upon opening. I don't like the quality of most bird food mixes so I make my own which is just a combination of some millet (uncooked), oat groats, chia seeds, flax seeds, hempseeds, and a little pinch of oregano because apparently that works as an antibiotic and is safe for Budgies. Of course depending on the type of parrot you have the ingredients would vary but I have repurchased this many times, kept in the fridge, and have always received a quality product. Highly recommend to parrot owners!

Takes me back to my childhood
I remember eating millet as a kid (my grandmother would cook it) instead of rice or potatoes, but this grain seems to have fallen out of fashion while the plant based community pushes brown rice, quinoa, amaranth etc. However, I still eat it often - especially good with dishes that are saucy, or have some sort of gravy. Well packaged and vacuum packed, the millets are fresh and cooked up nice and fluffy. Millets are extremely nutritious -- high in antioxidants, soluble fiber and protein.

Soak before using to remove phytic acid coating for digestion, most websites say that.
Tasted really good, made it like a pilafwith herbs and butter. Side note soaked for 2 days in fridge w no adverse texture once cooked.

Very Disappointed โ Smells Moldy
I bought this foxtail millet expecting a fresh, quality product, but as soon as I opened the package, I noticed a strong moldy smell. It was completely off-putting and made it unusable. Iโve bought millet many times before and never had this issue. This batch clearly wasnโt stored or handled properly. I would not recommend this product and wonโt be buying it again.

Easy to cook with
I've just recently learned about the great health properties of millet to include high fiber, high protein. It's also a grain that could grow in my area of the planet - so I was interested to start using/cooking with this. This company seemed like good quantity for the $, and I'm very happy with the product itself. I've used it in several recipes to include making crepes, soups, and I made peach/pecan/millet muffins (1/3 wheat flour, 1/3 millet flour, 1/3 millet). Millet is denser and ends up being a bit sweeter and heavier than wheat. Also, I needed to add a bit more egg in the crepes and muffins to hold it together better. In baked goods - it also gives an interesting and unique "crunch". For soups - use sparingly. I used some in a soup and the millet expanded so much that it became more like "gruel" and my children didn't want to eat it (I still did, it tasted good just unexpected texture). In general, I would easily buy more from this company and I intend on continuing working with this grain as a staple in my house.

Good price for that amount
Good stuff for a right food, 3 stars only because of the small dampness flavour and smell a little bit caused by keeping it on vacuum packet

Made millet with lentils, vegetables with lots of spices full of flavour. This recipe took me 30 minutes to make after boiling my millet the previous night. Highly recommend this product if you are bored of rice! Liked that the packaging was sealed well keeping the grains fresh and intact.
