Official guidance is to wait until 6 months before introducing foods to your baby. Products say from four months old as some parents are instructed to wean early (from doctors) if there are health issues such as reflux and colic. Baby needs to show signs of readiness such as being 6 months old, being able to sit upright with little- no support, baby can bring items to their mouth, they have lost the tongue thrust reflex.

can we use milk instead of water?

Yep - I do when the kettle water is too hot :) no drama at all (and have used left over bottle milk also!) he’s been eating this from 5 months, is now 10 months and still loves it!

Does the job for a hungry baby

Love this but find it needs more water than the fruity porridge and I usually add a splash of milk. Kind of looks like wallpaper paste without and is super sticky. Little dude loves this stuff though and is now ready to move on to wheat biscuits.
